I have an new ogre team, and I would like to win a game with them. Smashing opponent is not possible, as only high AV teams (dwarfs, chaos dwarfs) want to play vs them. So how can I manage to win a match?
Thanks for the advice. |

I'm not that experienced with ogres, but in my oppinion... Throw Team Mate!
If you can't grind down your oponent just chuck a gobbo and pray! |

Cage and TTM
But the real clue is scoring with one of your Ogres ^_^
I'm running a league where only Ogres can play... come and join us, link in my signature |

Protect your gobos. Sure hands on double to ogre if you want to develop him as a scorer. Consider dirty player on double to gobo if you are playing against high AV teams. Watch som ogrematch replays. All in all I think ogres have a hard time in ranked.
Here's my first ogre team participating in an all race tournament and are doing pretty well (with some major luck):

Touchbacks are your friend. Or else, do take the +AG on an ogre... although AG2 isn't completely useless for picking up the ball (4+ with reroll is 75%). Pretend you're playing dwarfs and take it slow. It's hard to break through an ST5 cage... but with bonehead you can't count on a solid cage. Watch out for stripballers. |

Nice team... but what shocks me is the "two rerolls" part...

Well, given the pricy Ogres you can hardly start with more than 2. You are at the mercy of nuffle in many situations, but i guess that's the price you pay for the st5 army. My team has had the luck with the ballhandling - could have gone much worse if those 3+ pick ups had failed more often.
With Ogres you KNOW you can bash, you never know if you can win. |
