Two pools again this season. We'll start with the less important one. The one without the Shield, the current champ, or the commissioner.
Blaze Argenthorn Division
Named after an amazing wood elf who everyone wanted to squish, and now nobody gets a chance to thanks to a snotling named Hans.
Tararuas Krox (OrcCleaver)
TV 1860k. Champions from Season 12, with a coach who has just come off a successful Waikikamukau campaign. The 'Krox' will tear through the largely rookie pool, and their skink will have opposition coaches raging at the inequity of it all.
Player to watch: Star Saurus, err, no, it's strength 4 but it is no saurus - Powell
Prediction: 1st in pool, beaten semifinalist
Back Alley Burglars (DustBunny)
TV 2420k. OGRES! These guys will be cruel, oh so cruel. Maybe cruel enough to drive leaf green noobs to run screaming from the Leeg. They will definitely make the Cup playoffs, but will get thrashed in the semis.
Player to watch: A third Legend? No I'm not listing them all this time. One towers above all, LEGEND, Ag3 M7 TD rushing machine Chop
Prediction: 2nd in pool, beaten semifinalist
Ashenhall Owls (JPM)
TV 2170k. Having missed the past 2 seasons in mourning for their lost Legend Blaze, the Owls are back. They've been picked before to take the title, but not this time. They will embarrass a few sides along the way to Cup playoffs, and themselves in the game that matters.
Player to watch: He's no Blaze, but he is freaky. Ag6 Flint Burrows
Prediction: 3rd in pool, exit first round of playoffs
Argonian Maids (Nebula753)
TV 1680k. More lizards. Still fairly fresh to DIBBL but growing nicely. Will scrape into fourth in the pool with both skill and the love of Nuffle. Unlikely to take the Plate.
Player to watch: Bark may be worse than its bite, but that's one scary bark! Kandy
Prediction: 4th in pool
Dirty Rotten Filthy Scum (mushoomy)
TV 1490k. You have to look a long way back in time to find the last Nurgle team that played in the Leeg (Season 2!). This lot are just as disgusting, and will be more successful.
Player to watch: Nothing too freaky in this team yet, +MA and Dodge will hog the ball, pestigor June
Prediction: 5th in pool
Death Jesters Of Naggarond (Geoffro)
TV 1480k. The staunch "I am NOT an elf coach" Geoffro, is.... an elf Coach! Hahahahahaa. He will love his venture into the world of elfdom so much, that in no time at all he'll be donning tights and entering table top leagues and tournaments with less stabby elves. Norse will gather dust on the shelf.
Player to watch: Strong and blodgy will menace the opposition in his first few games. Sadly the tea leaves say he'll be dead by round 4 Adrdryn Rolmalen
Prediction: 6th in pool
Aattaallii LavaBulls (DIBBL) (oozeboss)
TV 1450k. Six guard blockers! If that's the sort of crime against blood bowl they bring to the Isles from across the sea we may just have to close the border. The team will start solidly, but will be undone when the coach gets bored of the traditional chorf style and tries to develop a passing game.
Player to watch: 6 identical blockers, 3 identical hobgoblins, 2 identical bulls. Only one player stands out, the cow! Ba'al Hadad
Prediction: 7th in pool
Everstorm Wounders (Klazam)
Bretonnian makes its racial debut in the Leeg, and what a bunch of wounders. Will battle the ogres for the Gumboot, but not make much of an impression elsewhere. Maybe next season
Player to watch: This dude will be annoying, Sir Lopen the Onearmed
Prediction: 8th in pool
Orcsville Dribblers (chrisrio)
New coach, new team, these orcs are an unknown. But they're orcs! Will get one or two wins and challenge for the Wobbly Boot.
Player to watch: One blitzer will shine, it will be Rudolf The Red
Prediction: Last in pool |

On to the important pool. The one with me in it!
Karzharr Greyears Division
Named after a Legend Bull Centaur who unlike Blaze had no stat increases. Also, unlike Blaze, Karzharr had a DIBBL Championship ring.
Blackwater Sting (Foad)
TV 2330k. Foad has gone experimental in SWL, and sentimental in DIBBL. Sentimental is big and strong. The Sting should go back to back in a season where there are many new teams. However, they'll get Nuffled in the final.
Player to watch: LEGEND - Has played more games than any DIBBL team, but is a wee bit slower than he once was, still be very afraid of - Mickey "The Don" Marino
Prediction: 1st in pool, beaten finalist
Doddle (ramchop)
TW 1500k. Doddle made a career of embarrassing new entries into SWL. Now they've shaken off their "no stars" shackles, and with FUMBBLer of the year at the helm, there is no stopping them sprinting to glory in DIBBL.
Player to watch: With two (now three) MA10 gutter runners you'll need to be quick of eye to watch any of them. Try to catch Grizzly MacDuff II as he sprints to victory.
Prediction: 2nd in pool, Champion
Crouching Saurus Hidden Skink (bigbullies)
TV 2090k. Despite a seemingly insane intent to play a Lizardman passing game, bullies will do well this season. He has big Sauruses and agile skinks, and a team which has been around long enough to know how to use them.
Player to watch: Superstar stephensii is on a march to become a Legend, and may well get there this season.
Prediction: 3rd in pool, exit first round of playoffs
Bonesfield Bakers (PlantingLemur)
TW 1690k. Tomb Guardians have surely put their surprise passing game behind them. They'll instead focus on pounding the opposition like dough, on their way to regular 2-1 or 1-0 victories.
Player to watch: Some bash teams tend to forget about the ball, good thing there's someone on this team who knows how to score - Massa Sovada
Prediction: 4th, Plate winner
Slaan Francisco 69ers (barberfett)
TV 1820k. Bigger than last season, just lacking a magic talent to score enough TDs and crack the top 3. Maybe next season.
Player to watch: Scoring might be problematic but with Pink Visual on the squad, there'll be no lack of blood.
Prediction: 5th in pool
Crowdsurfers Paradise (smeborg)
TV 1200k. Starting the season with only 7 rostered players these Khorne had a rough introduction to DIBBL preseason. However, they've scrimped and they've saved and have replaced their dead Bloodthirster just in time for kick off. They'll be well coached and will cause a few upsets.
Player to watch: Bloodthirsters have killed Legends before in DIBBL watch out for Scratchy Rides Again.
Prediction: 6th in pool
Hauraki Horrors (DDAmAge112)
TW 1850k. Another DIBBL veteran, the Horrors will smash things. And occasionally remember to do something with the ball.
Player to watch: Much more mobile than the two mummies, you can't run away so easily from this guy Roberts Revenge
Prediction: 7th in pool
Jank, Jank, Splat! (blackcaps)
TW 1380k. Last season a rookie 990k wood elf team wowed the punters by making the Cup playoffs. These wood elves are more developed, but are in a very nasty pool.
Player to watch: Speed kills Loiko
Prediction: 8th in pool
Opetpoti city Crawlers (Trickey)
TW 1080k. It's Trickey to rock a rhyme, to rock a rhyme that's right on time. It's Trickey, it's Trickey (Trickey) Trickey (Trickey). Welcome to DIBBL, it'll hurt.
Player to watch: Keep one eye on this guy, Claw, Block, Tentacles, Bobo Balde, Stoopid
Prediction: Last in pool |

Rakhak's Hoof (aka "The Hoof", "The Rakhak")
The votes are in.
Current player list:
The Mark: Brian "The Bagman" Berlusconi. The Hoof was awarded! And coincidentally the source of the Hoof (Rakhak) was coached by the same coach as its first victim (Blue Suede Shoes). mushoomy naturally chose Brian for the Mark, only one foul to his name, but what a foul.
The Don: Mickey "The Don" Marino. Hailing from the same team as the Mark, Marino is a Legend! 144 games, 68 cas, and 4 votes.
The Rush: Chop. What a Legend! All time biggest DIBBL star, record rusher! The biggest Ogre star [L]eague has ever seen. Chop is guaranteed to be the Ogre with the ball, and I just dare you to stand in his way. (3 votes)
The Flash: Grizzly MacDuff II. Everyone loathes MA10 gutter runners. With three of the buggers on Doddle who is one to choose? The one with sprint and sure feet of course (3 votes)
Rules:
Kill one of these lovely creatures and you can proudly display the Hoof trophy on you player bio, team bio, coach bio... wherever you see fit. Until someone takes it from you by killing another nominee.
The horseshoe, however is permanent, and may remain on your player's bio forever:

The Otepoti City Crawlers: One eye on the shield
The seemingly haunted side still with blood on their mind struggled firstly to adapt to the pace of league play with Doddle's Free running play seeing the rats reeling. This wasn't helped by Star Troll Bobo having only one eye on the game from the bench, the other having been ripped out by a Lizard in the warm up game. The only real news was rookie Lineman Radabeetle killing Barnacle Beasley and the Hulking Henwrek taking his first casualty of the league, this took him to 10 in 6 games.
Finally though the Squad got it's wish facing the Lizard tyranny of Crouching Saurus. Glart Jr came along for the ride along with a hastily press ganged Thrower. A good first drive led to Barry Workman sprinting up the flank to fling the ball to a baffled mercenary who crossed the line to open the Crawlers account. There was much rejoicing.
Unfortunately the Crawlers kick off was awful leading to a touch back and the Lizards swarmed in down the flank to equalise. Henwrek, a Rat with a huge opinion of himself, needed two apothecaries to remain in the game but did very little to avenge his murdered litter. Bobo was too hungry to attempt a special play. 1-1 at the half.
The Crouchers were severally short after the Crowdsurfers had dealt to them in the first round. The crawlers thought they could take advantage of this and although the demon lizard stephensii, with a touchdown and 3 casualties (Henwrek twice and Bobo), they managed to get a break. Glart jr led his way up the pitch.
The move was quickly snubbed out by Otagense II and Smithii III 2 Skinks in need of a hoofing. The ball popped out to young gobo Percy Fresh fungus who was a pace short of the line before being mobbed by the skink back field. The skinks swarmed up the feild and Suteri V picked up a TD.
Everything the Crawlers did from here looked panicked and desperate.
Still licking there wounds they went off the field down hearted. Could there next victory though bring the shield to Otepoti!! Well if Bobo was a betting man he would be seriously confused about his finances........... |

The crawlers Slow learners
The Crawlers have been slow to adapt to the pace of the Dibbl league play. It was with great eagerness they arrived on the other island to take on the Hauraki Horrors. They arrived North with all sorts of new secret weapons.
The Crawlers received and seemed to have a game plan in mind. With Runt Hunter quickly fouling a Zombie of the pitch. Unfortunately the overzealous Fletzglitch found himself surrounded by lumbering carcasses and only lasted a few minutes before being wheeled off the pitch. This led to an almost exodus of players from the pitch first the dead took the goblins. Then the young Lucas Radabeetle fouled of the pitch.
Gary MacCatlitter broke up the pitch feeling the open grass on his feet and possibly a rush of blood to his head he decided to flick a long bomb despite being swarmed by the dead. The ball fell out his hands as smelly Rob beat him into a slumber. Not a Skelly Lineman gathered to score and end the half.
The Crawlers kicked deep and the Dead started their formidable dance on the skulls of the crawlers. MacCatlitter was the first on the Apoc's table luckily being patched up from a nasty splintered rib cage. Flibberty Gibbert was not as lucky. A blow to the head from a rock had made Mark de mann vulnerable to a skelly kick in and he was the next off the pitch. Talismanic Henwrek Larsony tripped over his feet and somehow smashed his ankle. Bobo Balde was another victim of the Lumbering Mummy as the dead again stumbled in to the end zone.
A lonesome figure Gary cut at the end of the game he tried to rip up the field but numbers were against him and he ended up firmly in the crowd as the dead cleared the pitch before the final whistle.
Where to for our heroes the Crawlers? Will they ever learn, will Bobo ever get rid of his limp? Why didn't Henwrek just die going for it like a proper star player?
Now they cast their eye towards the surfers and their Spawny demon kind. |
