Lucky talisman was only $1.50 on the steam sale...the nostalgia is already over for me, after half a play through ![Surprised](./modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_surprised.gif) |

Hahaha, I haven't even had a crack yet.
Still, it would be good to do some occasional non-bloodbowl gaming with SWLers. |

Just wondering if anyone from SWL would be interested in playing some talisman online? Great little boardgame I remember from being a kid, the online edition is on sale on steam at the moment. Was thinking of organising a play through one evening if there is interest. |
The online game make the play through quicker... No setup, far less dicking about... |

Yeah I love my board games but most games (blood bowl, twilight struggle) are so much better online as you save so much time |

Yep. agreed.
However, I think with games like Talisman there is something to be said of sitting around getting shitcanned while playing them as they are mostly casual. |

I don't have Talisman nor do I even know what it is
However, I have a pretty decent Steam presence. I do a lot of trading/money making there and also play a few other games (you certainly rack them up in number after a while through various means). It'd be interesting to see other SWL'ers on there. PM me for my profile link, or just look up Daudy (I'm assuming there aren't too many named that).
EDIT: Match with Dazed should be in about 30-40 minutes. |

Round 1 Wrap
Slumbering Skink proved too much for the knife wielding Steaked crew, ending the match in a 2-0 shutout. Rumour has it that their knives had rusted away by the time the Skink's coach hit the End Turn button. Grumpsh retaliated to his snubbing in the previews in emphatic fashion, going up against the Autumn's Leaves. Grumpsh was complaining that he couldn't get his 50 blocks in. The main problem was that there wasn't enough people left standing & on the pitch to hit... Wings of the Condor proved that they (or rather, Viola) can play with the big boys of the league and took 5 points out of what could have been a really bad match-up.
An interesting round in the Butchrangers 2nd Prem conference. Wonga Wonga & the Horrors held each other scoreless in a block fest (over 100 blocks between them) that resulted in a dead zombie and a retired lineman. Both coaches would be happy to take some points out the game. PSA & Eau de Toilet fared little better, in a similar game. Night Patrol was on fire, but wasn't able to seal the deal to take the win. It appears an Orc team has not only held the Psych Lab scoreless, but managed to put 4 TD's into the endzone in a steamroller performance. Critically for eganra, no valuable rats lost. Rabid decided forfeits were the better part of valour and left the other Nurgle team on the sideline, electing not to take part in the SWL's special kind of funtimes. Coach Sem instead watched their round 2 game from the sidelines.
Redmaul was unable to overcome the Strength of the Warpsend Wanderers, as the legendary Morg 'n Thorg turned up to collect a paycheck. Fans were obviously disappointed when after a few short turns he left the field protesting a rolled ankle. The Sentinels took the points in the match-up against the Sphinxes, but it was the Sphinxes (and the rest of the division) who really won the match. Team star Iolas took home a smashed ankle, whilst not less than 3 other permanent players will need to make their peace with Elven pantheon. cdwat: I suggest sacrificing something (anything) to nuffle before you play again. Redgum's rats put away the Freezy Trees without too much trouble. The big dog of the conference reminded Smegish just how good positional play/non MB Orcs are. Oh wait... That was the idea, wasn't it? Losing Rico is a big loss. The Mexican's now have no players with more than once skill that aren't horribly crippled in some way. WE BELIEVE.
The Cavaliers and Snowleopards shook hands at the start of the match and went hell for leather in a shootout. Really interesting match-up. Due to the speed of the game, the wardancers didn't have the same turnover power that they would normally get, whilst the NoS catchers came into play far more often than they would usually get the chance to. Toonie managed a good draw against a strong Amazon line-up. Good work. The Sacred Spawning has some Bull Frogs to contend with in round one. As some background, both of these coaches are quite competent when it comes to tabletop bloodbowl. However, it comes to playing on computer and the compooter digiwatts mess up the hoozibytes in their brains and they both go to mush. Both coaches derped as much as they herped and it ended in a draw, in part due to some ridiculous heroics from Matt Webbed-feet. In the other match, Tomay lost. He'll have to step up his positioning if he is going to be competitive this season.
The Glee Club absolutely maimed the shadows, who are going to be recovering from that game for some time. Rookie Nurgle's debuffs proved too much for the believers in the false god Elffun. He has no place in the SWL Karnov. 1 TD was enough for the Unicorns to slide by the fourth iteration of the Kiddies. Tribal has decided to play a real team and put one over the far stronger deities of dodge. Easy Mode Maniacs proved how easy it is to default to an AWOL coach. Guys... copy in swladmin in your PMs...
Elf specialist Charger stripped his armour and switched to woodies, running circles around the Ogrepaid Ogres. Yet another rookie Nurgle team got up against the demoted Vamps. Team stalwart, Virgil Tracey left his sunscreen at home and bit the dust (pun intended. puns ALWAYS intended) making this trip to reggies slightly more problematic. Notch up the points for Dr "ohmygodineedtorerollthisteamisscrewed" Poods. MA10 Blodge werewolves are pretty good apparently. I haven't seen the Jeagers before, but Tomay losing twice in one round is pretty much the jackpot of results. *High Five*. Almic's reggie killer Khemri were held up by the other regional heavy-weights, Banner of the Black Stag with a 1-1 draw. |

Great write up Semi! Also love the fact that I'm 'the big dog of the conference'.
Yeah I didn't realise what Luo had done to the GGS. As the Sentinals round 2 opponent, I think I owe Luo a beer. |
