One thing I really don't like about this version we're playing is the star players. Much ink gets spilled over Griff, Hakflem, and Morg, but my Orcs, if I'm facing a team that could induce Bommer, including with petty cash, that pretty much obligates me to take Bommer out of self preservation. If they didn't take Bommer, now I have the machinegun, hohoho. (Okay, he said, "now I have a machinegun too," but I had to make it fit.)

It's funny when Goblins do it. But otherwise, if you don't like your football games being taken over by explosions, tough. At least Griff is a damn football player, amirite?

I like this idea a lot. I would even go a little further and suggest that a team with 12 players should get more than up to 11 replacement loners for its next match.

This would reduce the likeliness of downward spirals and makes the game both more fun and more fair.

It doesn't to be "for free", but it must be cheap as it aim to help maintaining bashed teams afloat.

in the same idea, injured players with reduced caracteristic might also increase TV a little less.

About my idea: if Loner positionals could be considered too good, they could be Loner 5+, instead of 4+. This way you would have to use them with more caution.
So, a rostered Human Ogre would be Loner 4+, while a Journeyman Loner Human Ogre would be Loner 5+.
This would make the Journeyman Ogre worse.

if you hire bomma as a counter to them hiring bommer and they do, neither gets him

if you do the above and they don't hire him, you get bomma!

Thanks for the useful information (I knew about the Indian origin of Chess, by the way), but here we are talking about Blood Bowl, and I wanted to point out that hiring Bomber to counter Bomber is not available to every team.

This was the first time I talked about hiring Bomber as not valid counter-measure to Bomber himself, to be accurate, not the hundredth time.

not a Professor, though, not in the english language, at least, because that title is reserved for some university lecturers in the language of the Bard
