My humans have made it to round 2 of TEH CUP! Yay! But now have been drawn vs some very nasty dwarfs!

My team has already hired a Wizard for the up and coming brawl! But what should i do with the rest of the money?

My Team Human Love & the Nasty Dwarfs

Against 3 +str rolls and 8 MB's i feel i will be really under the cosh so with only 14 players what should i do? I know i will be recieving 4 handicaps Virus, Greatest, Wasnt me, and Morleys would be really nice! Very Happy But lets face it i probs wont get any of them! I could:

Hire Count 90k
Hire Griff Oberwald 90k
Hire Zara ( a bit useless but u never know) and freeboot a Lineman for LOS. 95k
Hire Zug and Freeboot a Lineman 85k (10k Carry over)
Freeboot 2 Lineman 50k and keep the left over (45k) for the next round.

But also please not that Zara, Griff, and the Count will all have there dodge negated vs the tackle he has on all 15 dwarfs!

Love your team soul, but frankly you're screwed barring some divine intervention from NUFFLE. A wizard might give you a chance of holing a score, but your team will be beaten half to death by then probably....

What i thought deepdown, be funny though! Might go for griff cos he can cover some serious ground and attack cages and dwarfs deep in the field!

those are definitely nasty dwarves

Looks like a job for Griff! Give him the ball, and go go go. Griff has a max range of 11 squares. the dwarves would have to widely cover the field to deal with him. Secondly, Griff has leap...so no cage is safe.

Then again, the count is the count. Str5 ag4 blocking regenerating monster even if you count out dodge. AND it has hypnotic gaze which people use too rarely. Might work well breaking dorf cages.

As fun as the Count might be, I agree with Calcium - too much Tackle. Griff has the speed you need to overcome those li'l legs the Dorfs have attached to their hairly butts, and you're going to need it.

Good luck, and have at!

I wouldn't so easily dismiss the Count.

A. He has better Strength
B. Better Armour
C.Regenerate
D. Hypnotic Gaze.

he already has 4 MV7 and one MV 8 guy, I don't he's really going to be desperate for speed and I think someone with a little more surivability will help out shed loads.

...Oh yea and Griff is a catcher If I remember correctly!

If you want to get seriously competitive then check out your opponents previous games to see his playing style and look for possible mistakes to exploit. Take out the AG3 dorfs and then they will struggle to score, all you need is the wizzie to pop the ball loose and give you a TD and the game could be won if you can keep enough players on the pitch.

I'd still say the count is better than Griff mostly due to hypno gaze, that being said a fireball followed by Griff leaping action could give you the win and you do only have 1 catcher.

If you receive 1st OTS with Griff. Bench Griff.

Then Kick Deep and try to cover it, force a turnover and score right away. A little Skaven Ball tactics.
If that works you are up 2-0 by turn 3 and you still have your Wiz.
Then try the same thing again.
If you can somehow get the 3-0 lead you are home free.

If that doesn't work. If you don't win the ball.
You want to keep receiver deep for a quick score.
Use that WIZ and get that ball away and to that receiver.
Score right away. Get that 2-0 lead.
The RUN AWAY pick a few players to hit with a Mighty Blow Blitzer.

And FOUL the STUFF out of them if you can muster enough assists.
Just DO NOT FOUL with your KICKER/Dirty Player.

Even if you give up a score that half and the next half you are OK.
You have Griff on the bench. Use Griff to OTS him again FTW.

If they receive first. Bench Griff.
Pressure the ball as before looking for the quick score.
If you get it do it again.
If you don't use the WIZ as before and score.

If none of that works RUN let them have the TD keep your team alive and try to pick off a few of his players.
They will have to score leaving you 1 turn left.

And if you have Griff Benched he will get you that OTS.
OTS him again to start the 2nd half.
You will be 2-1 looking to play a little Skaven ball for the 3-1 lead.

Don't sacrifice your team to stop overtime though.
You still have a TD up yoursleeve if you can keep him on the bench.

Some may say my tactics are cheese using the OTS.
I say you are playing against Dwarves.
They get what they deserve. Cheese them to death and advance.

Why should he ever OTS first? If he plays his cards well, he may create 2-3 turns in which the Dorfs only get one Blitz as far as hurt goes, he will be pressed much harder to do that when kicking.
From my experience with Vamps, on Hypno Gaze is usually not enough though Very Happy

Imo Count is the best option due to hypnogaze and the high St.

I would prob make a wide defensive setup and kick deep and just try and go elf-bowl on his ass by exploiting his low MV.

Best bet for you as far as i can see.

oh and save the wiz as long as you can when kicking. if you cant steal it and get a TD then you should at least be able to disrupt his offense enough to avoid him scoring.

my 2 cents
