Hi all!
It's been months since i don't play a match, because i was waiting for the new client to come. Now that it is arrived i realize that i can't hear any "ouch" or "splat" when playing!
Client sound options are set fine, i really don't know how to resolve this problem (i'm a n00b pc user)
Hope that someone could help me! |

as you claim to be a noob PC user I do not think you are on a linux machine... because I could know a possible solution to that. With Winblows I cannot help |

I think it is difficult to suggest what the problem is without further information.
Something to try: upgrading Java to the latest version, and removing older versions.
Also try closing every other program you have open before starting the game (like Skype etc). If you press "Ctrl + alt + del" you can see which programs are open, and you should (carefully) close most of the programs that are not labelled "System", at least if you recognise them. |

if sound does work on other applications and its just the client not working it would be very unusual. Only things I could think of would be an old version of java issue or you have got windows 7 application volume control (on the start bar) having java apps on mute. |

Yo,
I would have linked to a post in this forum where I learned from some real pro on how to correct a sound issue in Ubuntu.
I am not good at that stuff, I just happen to know something for once |

Ok, there is a new disturbing fact about my mysterious problem
Yesterday during the usual silenced game, i could hear the gobbo sound when he is throwed (by the way, it's the coolest noise of all time)
Does it mean something?
P.S. java is updated to the last version, and windows 7 application volume control doesn't have it on mute. |

Sounds like a serious problem, formattng your computer will fix it. Not a fun thing to do. |

That actually tells me something Ryld.
The thrown gobbo is the only stereo-sound in the client, all other sounds are mono, as it is just the same sound in both speakers, while the gobbo fades from one side to the other. Most probably your computer just plays one line, or just stereo-sounds from Java.
Check so that all cables are fastened properly and check all possible sound-settings if something can cause this behaviour. |
