Hello from France gents,
Long time lurker, first time poster^^.
I'm trying, amongst other BloodBowl projects, to
build a Nurgle team and have a question concerning
the pestigors.
Really how did they join this team of rotten
diseased monstrosities. They are beasts not undeads
nor daemons, so practically, how i do you paint them
(which is my actual problem). They don't have a
rotten skin right? Or do they suffer the same skin
problems as rotten and nurgle warriors? |

Well, the old Nurgle Rotters team was a pile of goo all the way, but this was back in the 80s. There were no Pestigors.
As far as I know/guess, Pestigors are beastmen with the same affliction as Rotters (who are human). So yes, I'd paint them with rotting flesh (not necessary rotten, but rotting) and all kinds of nasty looking boils. Ouch. I can't see any difference between beastmen and men with Nurgle's Rot or its starting symptoms.
The new "gor" approach came with the Beasts of Chaos army book for WFB a few years ago, so perhaps you should look there for more information on the different breeds of gors. You probably won't see the word "pestigor" in the book though. |

Yup.
Nurgle Warriors are just Chaos Warriors with the Rot
Rotters are just humans (or other humanoids) with the Rot
Pestigors are just beastmen with the Rot |

Yeah, fluff-wise, the differences between chaos and Nurgle are slim. Nurgle are just the branch of the chaos horde dedicated to him, and the warriors and beastmen have gained Nurgle's somewhat questionable "blessings". It rather strongly implies that the regular chaos team is comprised of worshippers of the other three chaos gods or chaos undivided. In more practical-fluff terms, most of the regular chaos BB teams worship Khorne ![Wink](./modules/PNphpBB2/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif) |

Stick with 'beasty' colours for your pestigors - i.e. browns/tans - but apply a touch of green ink washes in patches then highlight as normal. This adds a bit of mangy/diseased look to their fur. Skins benefit from a grayish/green tone and kept pale to promote a Nurglesque feel. If your beastmen are lucky enough to have boils modeled on then bright red for the boils with a nice pus dot in the middle is great! Rusty armour is a nice touch but don't overdo that effect - it can look too busy otherwise!
Claws should be kept yellowish-brown not gleaming white!
With Nurgle keep thinking "fungus" and you can't go wrong! |
