How is the coach ranking calculated?
I'm sure i've read this somewhere before, but I can't find it in help or by searching the forums.
If I recall, it's calculated like chess (ELO)?
Do draws effect the ranking?
Why do the 'combined' rankings/rating equate to greater than the blackbox and ranked ranking? |

And draws effect according to the coach/team difference (underdog gains, overdog loses). |
I'm not sure that is current. |
tis not!

I have a review and redesign of the system on my todo list (low prio), which will change things on a more fundamental level. Roughly speaking, it'd be a change from the ELO based system we use now to something based on a more modern ranking system (Glicko, Trueskill, or some variation thereof).
The hard part about ranking on FUMBBL is that the system needs to be able to deal with the teams you play being uneven in some form and therefore pure implementations of ranking systems don't quite work. |
From here.
Some discussion on CR calculation and systems for anyone interested in that That said, the current formula isn't public. |

If you want Legend status, simply win against 8-10 superstar coaches in a row! |

I count on my fingers and scream "THIS MANY!" then stomp around until the website changes the number which obviously never goes higher than 6 since you count the finger you count with too! |

From here; https://fumbbl.com/help:Ranking
"There has been a CR tweak, meaning that p in the first formula is replace by P. This new P is calculated using the old p, as follows: P = p ^ ( 5 ^ ( 1 - 2*r ) ) "
I think this might be some sort of Glicko type modifier as Christer was writing about in 2014.
Note 'r' is a 'racial modifier by TS'.
Any one know what that means? And what the following numbers in the link represent?

Numbers look like a matrix showing how many coaches are in each ranking point. |

That's a very old page and a throwback to LRB4 so you can pretty much ignore it.
Christer has never gone into massive detail into how CR is worked (to my knowledge).
I do know that you have a lot of individual ratings to get to your CR though, 75 that I am aware of. |
