I was wondering if those in Fumbbl who are MUCH better at surfing the net than I am could be kind enough to provide me with a few links to download Master of Orion one and two for free. I just want a couple of single player games to waste my time away at work.
Also if you guys know of any other places to download some fun turn-based strategy games please let me know.
Thanks all |

And if you feel like wasting money you could try the recently released Galactic Civilizations II, it's pretty good and the reviews kinda call it "What MoOIII should have been"

only thing you're gonig to find are demos, unless they've turned MOO into a free game(which is unlikely, seeing as how it's so ridiculously popular)....
but since i'm such a nice guy => Google search for master+of+orion+demo

ps...not to be a jerk or anything, but you might want to word your questioning a little differently....for those in the know, that statement could be construed as you looking for warez...as humorous as it may be, i don't wanna see people get banned because of a misunderstanding :-p |

I'm sure Moo I and MoO2 are available at most abandonware sites... 3 wouldn't be old enough yet. |

Full download of original is here.
You'll need a DOS emulator if you don't already have one. |

Star Trek Birth of the Federation is basically Master of Orion 2 with lots of Star Trek in, including the Borg. Made by same people? Can't remember, but it got more playtime from me than MOO2 (which is also a great game).
Just bought GalacCiv II, got the 1st one knocking around somewhere but never really played it much, hoping this new one will grab me better.
Other good old games I'd recommend are Hostile Waters (was on sale for 99p last I saw - criminally underrated and cheap, awesome game) and Anno 1602. The sequel to that was absolutely lousy though (1503). |

But Star Trek doesn't have cool custom built ships! It is (surprisingly) quite a good game though. I got MOO from underdogs years ago. MOO2 wasn't downloadable then.
Nice link Nighteye. I'll be keeping that one. Shame about the domain name. |

I got lucky and got a friend to burn me a copy of one he found in the $20 dollar bin in the local EB games... it's not a hard one to find if you don't mind a slight expense... I'm sure you could find one in town within an hour of shopping or at least find a place to order it from... great game though... Creative breaks the game... Best custom race ever is the super intelligent Ants of Doom!! Creative, Low G, Unification and +2 Research or something... unstoppable! |
