The reaction to the new rules begins to sound a little bit like the reaction a new version of Counter Strike would get Razz

However, can anyone post a link to where the changes or the new rules themselves are posted, so some of the newer coaches here on fumbbl (myself included) can get a hint of whats up for the comming years.

The most recent release versions can be found at:
http://www.specialist-games.com/bloodbowl/vault.asp

The discussion is made on:
http://www.talkbloodbowl.com
(forum: "Playtest Vault")

The newest version is 1.11, the release plan says 1.12 will come out 4/30/2006 and be revied 5/31/2006. After that these rules will get LRB 5.0 as far as I know.

I hope the LRB 5 will not ever implemented here... the new rules are not so balanced.

SkiJunkie has had a history of always implementing what he could of the current ruleset. Given that the PBBL rules WILL become LRB 5 (subject to some minor modifications and approval by BBRC and JJ), there's no reason to doubt that we will see a compliant client - if there ever comes a day when SkiJunkie feels he can no longer support the client, I'm sure he would hand it over to someone else. It's his baby, ultimately.

It would be a major bonus if we could get it before the LRB 5 is published - the last-minute feedback would be a major help for any of those tweaks that are needed. Also, there will be a BBRC Rules Review in October (I think), so any major issues in the first version of LRB 5 could be addressed almost immediately.

I recognise that not everyone likes the new rules; my suggestion of replacing DivX with it would keep everyone happy, and if implemented early, would fulfill the original goal of that division; to test out Experimental rules.

I think such a large community should be able to assist in coding issues that are going to be the hardest part. If you are skilled at java, you should contact SkiJunkie and volunteer your services. Perhaps we can get the new system on track.

As for anyone saying they wish it never comes, dry em. Once these become the new LRB then this division will be RANKED, not DivX or ladder. RANKED is the LRB and when the LRB changes, so does RANKED. My big issue is going to be the conversion of teams as we all know there are going to be litterally 1,000's of people complaining "i would not have taken THAT skill under these rules." I hope such talk is ignored completely.

Once these rules come out you know we will all get used to them and incorporate them into our strategy. There have been many changes before that some of us old schoolers have gotten used to.

Peace,

I think the reason why we're not hearing a lot from Christer and Ski is that they're secretly hoping this awful nightmare that is LRB5 never comes true.

I think it's because they're both busy men with actual lives. Wink

Oh, and WoW.

What exactly isn't balanced? Most core aspects are untouched in the Vault ruleset.

I'd prefer discussion of PBBL/LRB 5 be made on another thread. This one is about the new client, not the rules it will support.

Fair game. Of course this makes all above mentioned arguments against an implementation (except the someone has to do it hassle) void...doesn't it

Good point. And I think a poll about the PBBL would be a great idea too.
