Tack on Petit Pois (French for little pea... as in the vegetable... supposed to be a nice thing to say),
Mon Chere (French again, for "my dear"),
Habibi (Arabic for "beloved", in the female sense),
Jamila (or Gamila if you're Egyptian... "beautiful" in Arabic).
Damn. My wife would slug me if she realized that was all I could come up with.

Here in Denmark, a couple of friends and I are trying to introduce a new cute word to call the birds... Gubbiflax.
It has no meaning at all (yet), but allmost every bird seem to dig it. Directly translated it would be something like
Gubbi (Guppi - Little fish)
Flax (Flap - the thing that actual birds do).
So little fish that flaps... somehow they dig it, don't ask me why.
Darling is a classic.
Elskling is a danish one, albeit not used a lot. - (loved one)
Smukke is a danish one. - (a beautiful girl)
My girl calls me all sorts of names, but I'm not entirely sure they are appropriate for use on the forum, or very nice actually |
