Yes, kinda.
I think that you could de-select the Blitzing player by clicking again on him.
I mean, without a menu, to prevent the pop-up dialogue window spam.
So, select Blitzing player, preliminary target the victim (for purpose of seeing the block dice pre-view, it could be a red-framed square of selection around the victim to prevent confusion with the crosshair), hover on the 8 squares around the victim:
- if you want to confirm the Blitz just click again on the victim (and now the true black Blitz crosshair appears);
- if you change your mind and don't want to Blitz anymore, just click again on the Blitzing player, this will de-select the Blitz action and you can click again on him (or another player) to choose another action. |

Again, why not simply rely on the path that the client already draws when you are selecting a blitz target? The majority of times it will put you where you would be targeting anyway. And for those times when it doesn't you have to use your brain. |

Well you had to calculate this before the bb2020 update, right? And all was fine. |

in bb2016, you were always already in the square you were making the block from. |

Perhaps, it's possible to cancel blitz after clicking on player and get the blitz after?
Now, the blitz is lost. |

I really wish the client didn't show you how many dice you would get on a regular block or on a dodge, pu etc. I wish players had to understand their own risks. |

For the foreseable future we will not change the way the blitz action works. |
Thank you a lot Candlejack for the clarification.
I suspected that there were technical constraints that made this task cumbersome.
Surely the priorities right now are others and you guys are doing an excellent job. Let's just say that this remains a "nice to have" feature. Maybe in the future you will find an easy way to implement it.
Thanks a lot! |

as mentioned, it is only a support feature for the game. Of course everyone should know how many dice to roll before taking an action and be able to count
There would be no need to preview the dice when deciding to do a block action too: nevertheless the interface shows nice visual support which is useful. But it is not necessary.
But for the blitz action since the mechanics have changed slightly this causes some technical challenges that Candlejack has cleverly explained to us . |

Thanks Candlejack! You and Christer already made an awesome client.
From the ignorant client users' perspective like mine things look easier than they actually are to code.
We didn't mean to criticize the interface, client or your work, just trying to suggest an idea which could be useful, especially to new coaches.
Clearly there are higher priorities and as you said coding the Blitz dice pre-view could generate bugs.
Personally, I'm already very happy that, with the new client, I don't misblitz anymore. |
