Why max 10 ?
I knew that you can just higher your stats by 2, but a max of 10 ?
Where does LRB say that ? |

Well it doesn't. Thats the whole point....
But it used (in 3rd ed.?) to be a FAQ or something which didn't allow AV or MA to raise above 10.
It could happen with Maguic Helmet, and +2MA on GutterRunners/WECatchers.
Wasn't allowed.
But when I saw tha GutterRunner with MA 10, +MA and VLL I was very curious...
Is there any fumbbl player with MA11??? |

is VLL considered an ability increase, or can it be taken in addition to the two allowed abiilty increases? If so, you could have a player with MV12. |

VLL is considered an ability increase!
The max MA possible is 11. |

There is no Max 10. Nowhere.
There is Max +2 to anything and Max -2 to anything (based on starting Value)
The Max 10 you talk about is in the text of the Magic Irem Card "Magic Helmet" which is no longer part of the official Ruleset.
Hope that helps. |

Helpful, but about a week late. Asked and answered (twice at least). |

actually the only stat with a maximum value is armour which is 10
the other stats can be made 2 higher than the starting value so seeing as the highest starting movement is 9 you can have movement 11 (you can't have vll +ma and +ma for 12 though, you can have those skills but you can still only move 11)
st will be at 8 (for treemen who start on st6)
and agility is 6 (for elves etc starting with ag4) |

Grumbledook: I don't recall seeing anything written anywhere preventing VLL from combining with 2 +MAs.
Certainly, javabowl allows the three increases to combine for MA 12. |

Javabowl does, but FUMBBL does not. This was rectified a while back when someone noticed that there was a +MA +MA VLL Gutter Runner. It was discussed in the forums and yes, the official ruling is that you can have a stat increased by 2 at the most and VLL does specifically say that it increases your MA by one. Hence VLL counts towards the two increases.
If it said that VLL allows you to move an extra space (a small, but important difference in this case) then I could at least see the argument. As it is, 1-turners are kinda dull anyway (except for the novelty, which wears off quickly) so I'm pleased it works out this way.
I would personally like to see a cap of 10 on all stats, but it's not currently in the rules now except for AV. |

The only way to increase armour is Spikes.
So the maximum armour in the game is Treemen with 10, but the maximum increase is +1. (For Skaven, Rar Ogres, Minotaurs and Chaos only)
All other Stats can change by +/ 2 over their orginal value. |
