What to give the colonel:
http://www.fumbbl.com/p/player?player_id=8166702
He rolled 5+5 on his 4'th skill.
I was thinking side step before the roll.
+AV, Guard, Mighty Blow or maybe still side step?
I'm thinking Mighty Blow, He will probably be the one blitzing a hole in the defence. I dont like guard+wrestle and I dont see guard usefull on this guy. If it was a non double, I would probably take +AV, maybe... |

Wrestle + MB = fail. He is a wimp, even if he has ST4. Take +MA so he can run away faster and further. |

I would not take Guard or +MA. The other options are all valid and depend completely on your playstyle/preference. |

Mighty Blow. I totally disagree with Winni: Wrestle + MB is fine. You do a bit less damage against rookie players, sure, but you're more likely to want to use him against the guys you want to use Wrestle on (usually a better grade of cog, or even a carrier or something), making MB that much more impactful when it works. Tackle next if he makes it to Super Star, should go without saying. On a second doubles, I'd give him Guard. Either way, should he ever make Legend, he wants Side Step. I guess Tackle/Jump Up on all normals would be good. (Totally premature-bowl: doubles after Tackle at Legend would be Piling On.)
Don't bother with MA or AV on Wood Elf linos: MA on positionals is awesome. |

the question is, in what role do you want to use him?
- emergency blitzer / opener-of-ways: tackle
- non-critical turn blitzer / damage guy: MB
- cager / screener: guard
of course, MB and guard don't synergy well with wrestle, but are not terrible, either.
+AV is nice, but nowadays everyone is afraid of claw, and besides, no WE should get much hits
+MV is nice, too, but on a WE team are enough fast player...
sidestep would be next skill for me, it works well with tackle or guard |

+MA use the Strange (high Speed Team) of the Woods and made them better.
The Question u have to asked yourself is, to u want use the Strange of these Race, or u go the other Way, and go for a Slower Play and a Brawl (what is ALWAYS weaker for u as for the Opponent with your Str3 AV7 spam of pretty Expensive Players).
Do u want MB on an Wrestle Str4 Guy, YES, ok choose and the next Boot will em pretty fast kick from the Pitch, cause u go for free down and give the Rookie Lino who u Blocked with an BothDown result, the free boot on em.
For me I think the right Choice will be +MA or Frenzy, cause its very usefull on an Str4 Lino (every Race). On Elfs much more cause u can choose em pretty Easy to make the Block for the 1Turner or go for hunting Crowdsulfs. |

Take leap and guard. Against surehanded block players blitz with him. Against non surehanded blodge players blitz the ball carrier with General Block. In fact with leap and guard you could realistically get 2d6 blocks fairly often with General Block. Also, leap guard is essential in cases where 2/4 corners on a cage have guard to provide assists.
Strip Ball is overkill on St4. Its basically there to make up for ST disparity and to capitalize on skill starved ball carriers.
If he is in it for the long haul guard, fend side step is good and annoying.
Tackle Mighty Blow makes him your best blocker in terms of expected outcome of a ST3 opponent being blocked by him. |

Guard for me, you have enough tackle, enough leap, enough everything really, other than guard. it is a little crap on wrestle, but its still guard and it wins you games. |

There are really 2 choices in my opinion: Side step and Mighty blow.
I have some players with wrestle and MB (and usually tackle is next unless another double) and they are all quite OK. |

its mb followed by tackle, SS, or Guard, followed by SS, tackle; or movement.
If you have an MB, or get lots of points on the dancers anyway, just go guard, SS its faster for max bang for the buck.
St4 mv8, tackle (ss on legend) is not bad either. |
