I was just wondering how many of the players on fumbbl actually take the time to give their team a real bios? I mean make every player a charachter? Im doing it for my dwarfen Warhammerers, only 2 players left to write bios for, and i find it quite enjoyable Smile Am i the only one??

I've done that for a few of my teams. Case in point is the Destruktion Orkestra. Team bio and players bios.

One of the oldest active teams in FUMBBL has had a bio for every player on the team (at least, since bios were first implemented).

Yes, but Mojo, your bios isnt really fluff Razz Its not a story, it doesnt feel like a part of the warhammer world, if you get my meaning? Im wondering if there are any roleplaying teams out there!?

Here's my best example...

This team are D&D characters from the real world. My pure bloodbowl teams I usually don't give bios until they get their second skill, so I get something of a feel for their "personality" as it were.

I used to have bio's for all of my players, but over time, as they've retired or died (mostly death from aging) I stopped. I mostly follow the "once over 51spp, gain bio" rule. Still, I got some interesting stuff to read in here I think/hope. I keep meaning to add additions to my Hall of Fame. Anyway, I'll always promote the Evangelists at every opportunity. Surprised

My old orcs had fluffy bios for all the players (except the guy who had played 0 games before the team was retired):

It's all written from the perspective of the team's coach and is therefore in orc speak...

There is also one guy on the past players screen that has a bio...you can't miss him, he is the one with over 200 spp!

almost all my teams have background and players info.

I am particularly fond of my Amazon Team and of the Ogre of my old Orc Team

Yeah sure I made Bios for my humans McCarrons Highlanders, but when you get in a game that kills or niggles a bunch of your favourites it hurts. Just as well to keep them nondescript because they will die or get smashed up sooner rather then later.

That's a bit defeatist isn't it?

You might just say..."Why keep any team as they will die or get smashed up".

We all develop a certain pride in any player that grows over a period of time. No different to losing a player with a bio to one without.
Players die...so what. Develop you remaining players bios around that.
Perhaps it gives you new scope to write the replacement players bio.
"Joe stepped in to fill his fathers shoes after an unjust end" etc.

I agree totally, it makes the game much more "intense". Especially for me, cus i ran a bunch of my friends and exes through the fantasy name generator, so all my players are based on people i know... And its an intresting thing when you see your ex has had her collarbone smashed Wink
