I like Tattoos on Armour 7.

Would give Norse (probably just the Blitzers) an edge against other bashy teams while not making them slaughter elf picnics.

You don't need to modify Armour 7, ever.

The injury rate would still be over 40% which is more than enough.

well, i had a longer version of this ready to go but then my pooter crashed, so here's the basics....

based on the idea that a new team has to something new, that a team with only two player types is a bit boring, and the nice idea of the feral / wild orc tribe, here's the WYLD ORCS Smile

0 - 12 Tribeorcs 50,000 6337 G skills
0 - 2 Warriors 90,000 7337 tattoos, dauntless G, S skills
0 - 2 Hunters 80,000 6337 shadowing G, A,Pass skills
0 - 2 Shamen 70,000 4237 hypnotic gaze, foul appearance, tattoos G, Phys skills
0 - 4 Goblins 40,000 6237 stunty, dodge, right stuff
0 - 1 Wild Boar 110,000 6517 big guy, no hands, wild animal, frenzy, horns, thick skull, tattoos, break tackle S, Phys skills

notes: the tribeorcs are bog standard linemen, nothing special. The wrriors are a bit like trollslayers: they think they're harder than they actually are (dauntless, AV7), basically blitzers. Hunters have access to agility and passing skills, from all that tracking down and killing wild beasts, so they basically can choose whether to develop as throwers or catchers or whatever; however with only two of them they shouldn't be too open to abuse; and all that skill access is why they cost 80,000. Shamen are the disgusting wizened types, all covered in bones and vomit, cackling insanely and staring madly at you, Of couse, they'r not too hot at the old running around and hitting people... hence low MV and STR. The Wild Boar big guy: I just think they should be big guys. They're basically similar to minotaurs (faster, but less AV), and they trade off break tackle for mighty blow; i think it's more in keeping with the idea of a body charge as opposed to a swinging fist. Also, their low armour is compensated for somewhat by the tattoos (think of it as dye in their fur if you want:) ) They can't handle the ball, but minotaurs can't really handle it eaither, so not much different there. the big thing really is that only 5 players can have tattoos, not the whole team. Also, the idea of frenzy on all the team is a bit predictable: i prefer the idea of a team based on a hunting tribe than a warlike tribe, hence only 3 with access to STR skills, but also some limited access to physical mutation as well.

Probably not balanced yet, but I think not too bad Smile any opinions?

so you cant modify by a foul either ? *ahem*

I have used the null field rules off bbnet (unmodified armour)...
And then again, post team ideas on tbb....it will get better feed back.

not the same effect though.

wild orc tatoos are from the Warhammer fluff, they are magical and stuff, you know? not the same as the stuff that a biker-wardancer has on his chest ("i luv u mum" i guess - damn elves)

Or perhaps ppl can start looking into there crystal balls and start filtering in the NEW skills from the play testers vault... mabey skills like Grapple, Feind, ect ect, all of witch will give bashy teams a real run for there money....id put forward an idea but, its 12:30 and i gotta work tommor so im going to bed so ill sleep on it and see what u guys come up with tommor

Well My main idea was definitely to have a team where everybody is and has to be frenzied. Frenzy is a big advantage if one or two players in a team have it, but if everyone in the team absolutely must have it i think it will turn out as a two-sided knife, making the team deadly but extremely uncontrollable, just like I see Wild orcs. To answer some of the most annoying questions:
Is there a need for this team? Well, at least as much as for the next necromantic, undead, vampiric, khemrian team (those poor old werewolfs must sure feel depressed for not having their own lycantrophic team roster) or for a clear distiction between elf and high elf teams. Where is the need for playing blood bowl at all? I thought it was all about fun.
And I think a pure frenzy team list like the wild orcs will be fun to play and will be fun to play against, as there will be a lot of obvious tricks and traps involved, luring mad orcs in suicidal blocks (side step skilled players might become a real bane) and even more outright stupidness.

For the savage orc list, with all players MA 6 and lowered AV, sorry guys, this aint no wild orcs, this are hobgoblins. Orcs are (like dwarves) not weighted down by their armour, so they wont gain speed if they drop it. It was dumped, not because Wild Orcs would not fit to the background or something but because this list was plain boring.

How to best convert the tattoos,I dont know. Thick Skull and Jump up, was my idea, but may be this is to much. Thick Skull and Berserk could be enogh as a replacemaent for the lowered armor value, showing the Wild Orcs trying to ignore every hit that doesnt really blows them out.
The cheap wiz instead apo was only an afterthought, maybe not the best. Having Shamans with hypnotic gaze as specialists might be a fun idea.

And @Zy Nox and MiXx, O.K., its clear you dont like the idea. And you like the word "broken" very much. Why do you need 6 or 7 posts just to tell this and not much else. Aint that broken?

actually i got the tatoo idea from the citadel blood bowl annual's (or however its called) savage orc player, won't you tell jervis johnson that he should play warhammer instead? Razz

Armoured orcs have AV 9, take armour away, AV8 not 7, these are orcs not elves..
Kinda like the idea, should be play tested, ChaosDwarfs have Bulls why not give Wild Orcs Boarboyz? 7338 horns, surefeet, Skills G, S
tatto's is a good idea but as i said earlier av7 is too low for a orc team armour or no armour maybe AV8 + thickskull?
whats broken is peoples attitude on here.
