Has it ever been suggested to allow game comments by spectators? This could serve a lot of purposes -

*letting coaches get constructive feedback from outside observers on specific scenarios and games

*letting leagues have banter after the games

*more interactivity for games, especially tournaments

I don't know what this would require on the back-end and if it is possible but I think it would be neat.

I think he means that could you add comments to the game report after the game, like the players can now do.

That is exactly what I mean - in the way you can respond to blogs, etc.

You been allow to add comments to your own game for a long time. I read it as to see spectator chat which you can't see in a live game unless you are a specs

If they were logged as minor comments maybe yeah?

Could be fun.

I foresee no issues with third party match comments.

But seems ok for blog comments.

Your name is attached - I don't see how it could be any worse than the forums. I think it would be cool...the only place it would probably get rowdy is in leagues but isn't that half the fun?

I am in favor of this idea, but to be sure, it's a pretty big jump from "your blog post is wrong" to "you have no game," and I do think that's a legit concern. I think the public nature of it and the general maturity level of the community will help a lot, but it's worth considering.

Perhaps a toggle in user settings 'Allow 3rd party additions to match reports'? I'm not a programmer by any means so no idea if that's easy or hard. And then comments need to follow the same guidelines as the site.

Not being a programmer myself, I imagine the admins and programmers are looking at this idea with contempt...
