You should spectate more tournament matches. |

Often, elves struggle to afford replacements for their dead and injured players. Putting down 50k for a wizard just isn't feasible, especially if you are playing strength teams on a regular basis. However, yes, it is extremely effective. Busting the cage is a decent use for it, however, blasting the ball carrier with a lightning bolt also works nicely. Against a slow team like dwarves that can typically only score once per half, even slowing their advance by a couple of turns can make the difference between winning and losing. Anytime that I have extra money and a roster that is complete enough for me, I will buy a wizard. |

Yeah, what Origami said.
However, Bunny said it MORE correctly. If you've got 15 or 16 players and 5 rerolls, sure...hire away! They DO work, especially vs. Dwarves. I've lost a few IRL games to the Wiz. But 50k is a permanent Human/Rat/Amazon/Norse lineman (or at least potentially permanent ), and if it's a choice between that or a "chance" and maybe knocking some guys down, I'd take the guy. But if you've got extra cash and are already well set up, it's not a bad idea. |

You don't play dwarfs every match though.
My budget could stretch to 50k in order to have a far better chance of winning. |

Not if it wins you the game. Which it probably will if your an elf team lets face it.
In addition the 10k for winning effectivly reduces the cost to a mere 40k!
Wow zombie cheapness kids.
It also means you don't have to hide away from the few dwarf teams that seem to be around because you have a viable advantage to redress the balance. |

Don't forget about the additional 70k to replace the lino that got niggled halfway through the game. |
