I can see what Christer is trying to achieve here, he wants to keep two divisions, largely LRB compliant, to keep things simple, whilst allowing players to participate within active environments to actually get games in whether that be competitive or not.
The recent history of divisions is such:

Merging the divisions back is a no brainer, I said it before and for posterity I’ll say it again, this is long overdue. It created the separation Christer intended but it failed to deliver active open environments in either L or U.
The “keeping it simple” part confuses me though. Blood Bowl at FUMBBL in my mind is not a game you stumble into without knowledge of GW or their games.
I arrived here after playing the game in RL like many others and if you’ve taken the time to master the Client, the FUMBBL site and IRC, chances are you know how to play Blood Bowl, such that a few House Rules won’t be such a learning curve.
I guess my problem is that I want L to be player run with more house rules and configurability such that people can run interesting, imaginative and fun leagues on the glorious FUMBBL site that they would be able to be run in RL. That said, reducing the options/configurations of a non-competitive, purely fun, division in this way seems to be a step back from what I’d like to see in the future.
I’ll say no more on the subject… maybe. :)
