Goblin Specialists
Hello sports fans!

I invested all my money for some Goblin miniatures and painted them in Pixels. And took a Shaman from the Stuntee Forest Goblins.

I don't want to put them only in my living room to impress house guests but came up with a concept for them to use in a closed league environment.
To do that these guys gain a few new Specialist Skills.
So leave already, or take a look and let me know how broken those sound to you.

Cheerleader adds 1d6 of free Cheerleaders before the match
Shaman grants one Apoth Roll on Non Lethal injurious suffered in previous game between matchdays
Fan a team desperate for money can offer a fanservice where fans are allowed to play with their favorite team! What an experience for them. They are willing to pay for every game they get fielded. Roll 1d6*10K gold, add one half of the result to team's Treasury and add the additional half if the fan survives a match.

*more complex and effects ingame*
Bribed Ref a bribed ref can not attack or be attacked via direct Block or Blitz. A Bribed Ref may foul or get fouled. A Bribed Ref has to roll 1d6 after a match. If he rolls a 1 the league confiscates the ref's licence and the player retires.
*more convoluted and part of another house rule concept for league play including a blackmarket*
Filch gives one time Access to Blackmarket, player loses Filch (50K) after usage.

Happy for feedback.
Have a nice day,
Mekutata

PS: If you should become interested into my Goblin Project. I am posting in the Forum under Houserules until all Pixels are done.

Edit: here they are

Specialists

Specialists are Goblin players with additional staff functions and skills that can be activated between matchdays.
Coaches are allowed to hire one specialist per matchday.
Seriously Injured Specialists(missing next game) can not be activated.

Shaman

Goblin Shamans have always been important figures in Goblin societies. Their hallucinogenic brews made out of maddening mushroom sand toxic spider venom can erase brains but with Nuffle's will they can also numb the pain of an injury. [td][td]0-1

*Allows one Apoth Roll between matchdays for any Non Lethal Casualty suffered in previous game.

Player-Coach

Handling a whole team of mad Goblins can be a burden for one single sane Coach. Professional Blood Bowl teams often rely on the service of specialised Assistant Coaches. Some of these are also able to play themselves. [td][td]0-1

6 2 3 7Loner, Dodge, Right Stuff, Stunty, Coach*, Peaked90K*

* Allows a 1d6* roll before matchday to grant free Assistant Coaches for next game

Cheerleaders

Some argue that it is actually the cheeleaders that fans come for. Dancing and cheering for their teams they drive fans wild! Being already very acrobatic some of them also put on a good show on the pitch. [td][td]0-1

*Allows a 1d6* roll before matchday to grant free Cheerleaders for next game

Filcher

There are certainly some Blood Bowl players who made it despite their lack of talent. It was rather their contacts to Higher Ups that granted them the opportunity to realise the dream to become a star. But one dirty hand washes another and many teams benefit from the nepotism. [td][td]0-1

* Grants one time access to the Black Market. Player loses skill after usage and costs as much as a regular Goblin.

Fan

A team desperate for money can offer a fanservice where fans are allowed to play with their favorite team! They are willing to pay for every game they get fielded. Roll 1d6*10K before the next match, add one half of the result to team's Treasury and add the additional half if the fan survives a match.

Bribed Ref

Despite being illegal some teams actually hire referees. While they obviously can not act too suspicious they often can decide matches just by standing in the way.

*A bribed ref can not attack or be attacked via direct Block or Blitz. A Bribed Ref may foul or get fouled. Bodycontact due Ball&Chain movement or Explosions are counted as accidents and are "permitted". Tacklezones apply as usual. A Bribed Ref has to roll 1d6 after a match. If he rolls a 1 the league confiscates the ref's licence and the player retires.

Personal projects are always cool. Go you! Enjoy.

Feedback is less consequential because its all about what you want.

But....

Cheerleader 1d6? on top of a D3 roll? a 4, 5 or 6 means winning every FF roll via cheerleaders. Even a 3 on bonus cheers means the opposition would need you to roll 1 while they roll a 3, have the fame and a Fan favorite to win the reroll. unless both sides gain it in which case hello pointless but fluffy over-complication.

Shaman, second apoth with only league implications? Weak and fluffy, love it. Does she bring TV?

Fan, no stats suggested, standard goblin? with loner? tv cost? can he use apoth? free money and a free player, that's a strong combo, do i need space within the 16?

Bribed Ref, if he can foul, who controls him? he can't be blocked or blitzed but can be fouled, how is she got prone? special attacks? fireballs and bombs? can they gain assists on fouls? offer assists? 'and the player retires' so he is on a roster? if so, at what cost and tv? if he is sent off, does he bribe himself? can he argue his own call? This is fluffy as hell, but is no where near a usable idea yet.

Filtch, totally unexplained concept, good name. Bringing back assassins and pre game tricks? Are you aware older editions had this and have you looked for inspiration there?

Why no Fink Da Fixer? Have you checked out the rules for Goblin Referees and Goblin Balls that already exist?

What indeed is the aim here? A raise Goblins Tier? an AlL Goblin league? a new Goblin Sub-race roster?

Hi Coaches, thanks for the reactions, Purple, thanks for the first feedback.

And it's not only about what I want. It's an attempt to design something that I want, but in a way that other Coaches believe that they want it aswell ;)

Let me start first with your last question. The aim is a league setting with only Goblin teams. In the beginning I just added Starplayers (Mirrors for each one, so not only one team has access to Ripper), but it lead to some more fluffy ideas that try to make use of the many new league custom functions.

So.. to the players.

Cheerleader.. maybe 1d6 is too much? First I thought to just add 1 free cheerleader but when writing the blogpost an inner voice told me "more dice!"
Obviously other teams could have also access to the Cheerleader to even this out. And the basic idea is to make Staff a bit more relevant. The same approach could be used for Assistant Coaches. But overcomplication shall be prevented.

Shaman, that player and in general all specialist staff would cost a bit more than a regular Goblin (right now I have 90K) and add to the TV.

Fan, it's not really free money if you try to keep a Loner alive, you work for it. In general you would use journeymen players as meatshield to save your good players, here you need to shield the meat to get the actual money.

Skills and stats, that player and in general all specialist staff would be basically Goblins but peaked and +Loner. I just did't want to molest the blogpst yet with the long tables of skills and stats but offer space for imagination. But I'll pm-link you a note with the potential skills/stats.

Bribed Ref, a kind of player that could be more realised in a tabletop version (as your questions/ideas show).
But even in fumbbl it is actually kinda usable, at least in testmode plays so far. The player is controlled and moved by the Coach who hired him as regular, he just can't start a Block on his own and has no hands, so no direct intereference like normal players. But Assists and Tacklezones still work as normal. And he basically can stand in the way or mark actually strong opponents that can't really dodge. Weapons (Bomb Explosions, random B&C moves) and failed dodges could still bring him down. It's very experimental.

Filtch, unexplained but you already get the direction of the idea.
I actually browsed through a lot of old editions and house rules. And if possible I would add the new Fink Da Fixer (and Gunther the Gobbo for betting), right now they only appear in description for the Blackmarket/Betting. It's basically the chance to get pre game tricks, but not only for your team but as a chance to manipulate/assist other teams aswell.

added potential skill/stats into blog post

Late to the party but it looks like bribed ref could be the most powerful piece of the lot. A player that on top of his other abilities keeps his tackle zone and can't be blocked. Park him next to an opposing troll and thats him out of it for the rest of the drive. Maybe let him keep his assists but give him no tz when it comes to dodging. We all mark big guys but that comes with the knowledge that the player may well get smashed in the next turn.
