Painting? On a Wall?
The following is a pledge for a donation. Sorry to bother you if you can't/don't want to do that.

This is an indiegogo campaign:
http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/rua-e-o-mural-circus

If you don't happen to speak portuguese, you will have to take my word for what it is about:
About half a year ago some people (I was loosly involved, but moved away, so I am not anymore) put forward the idea that street art (essentially: music on the street, urban furniture, graffiti) could be used to enriched a community, instead of seperating it. They wanted to make an event to bring artists, administration and inhabitants of Porto together.

The aims were: Inform people. Let everyone see the city with the eyes of the other person. Make people see the difference between street art, graffiti and tags.

The budget for it was basically around 3000€ needed, the biggest part was paint, but also licensing etc. Please note that all artists worked for free on this one.
About 2000€ were collected through donations, a lot more money if you consider that the city hall of Porto for example did not take 150€ per license (10 licenses were needed), but only 12€, etc.
Despite lacking 1000€ (note: all participants are students) they went forward, in the end creating:
1 Mural painting
10 graffitis
1 grafitti workshop with people from a nursing home (if you have never seen a 90 year old woman "tagging" her name - its hilarious)
1 grafitti workshop for children
3 bands played
20 pieces of urban furniture (benches/playing tables/games)

And now they are going for the last piece, a several hundred m² large mural. The paint for this, the licensing, the scaffolding, the insurance, all that together is about 1000€ heavy, and as you see it is happening without your support. It is happening because the organisers (again, students) are paying for this with their private money, despite partly not even living in the city anymore. If you could donate even one Euro for this, in Portugal that is one beer they can drink after the event is over.

OK, you read so far, given the first sentence, that probably means you generally consider donating money. If you do not consider this a good place for your money, may I suggest giving some to the owner of FUMBBL? he could use it!

Thanks a lot.

Ohhhh... also, the painted shops (general idea: use graffiti to protect from taggings seems to work quite well, only very few crossings so far)

Some of these are frikkin awesome:
