SWL LXXXIX : BB20
Southern Wastes League, The Great Clerical Error!

Now that FUMBBL is officially 2020 in 2021 the time has come for the Southern Wastes League to adapt to these changing times as well.
Something seems to have gone wrong with the numbers though and as a result every team has to start out fresh. The legacy of the great teams remain but the playing field is now level for the third time in SWL's storied history.

Essentially, there has never been a better time to join the SWL!

The Southern Wastes League is a league operating around Australian Eastern Standard Time and most, but not all, games are played during Australian Primetime, i.e. Evenings +10 GMT.
This means that we're mainly looking for coaches that are available for matches during these times, but if you're in another timezone (like me) and can make it work around your schedule you're definitely welcome even if you aren't a fair-dinkum Aussie (also like me).

Two important differences from vanilla BB20:

In SWL, you have to draft your team, what this means is that you send a list of teams that you want to play to our admin account: swladmin
After which you will be allocated a team to play. What team you're allocated depends on the balance between Bash, Hybrid, Scoring teams, perhaps better known as the Rock/Paper/Scissors/Dynamite format as well as a racial limit for the most popular teams. More details on this can be found in the league page.

SWL has been using a rebuy system since BB16 and we will strive to keep the rebuy-limit at a similar size to what it was in BB16. For full details on agent fees and fundraising in SWL BB20, see the announcement on this topic in the SWL discord.

So if you're looking for the (in my slightly biased opinion) best league on FUMBBL, you've definitely come to the right place!
If you want to join the SWL or if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to send me or swladmin a pm on FUMBBL or hit me or any of the other league administrators up on discord!

Season LXXXIX
  1. Schedule
First round will begin on Monday the 18th of October with a round 7 deadline on the 13th of December.

  2. Structure
We will have as many conferences of 8 teams as we can fill up in the first season with the 8 best performing teams being promoted to The Premiership and a few of the worst performing teams being demoted to the regionals where new and redrafting teams will end up in following seasons.

New Rules
  1. Too many to list!

Recently Implemented
  1. BB20!
Please refer to the guide on the league's page.

General Reminders
  1. Axing
PM to the swladmin FUMBBL account by 10pm Monday SWL (Sydney) time if your game has not yet been played.

  2. General
Please be aware that we rely on individual coaches to be active in checking this forum, arranging games against opponents and in communicating with Admins. The responsibility is on the coach to enquire, not the Admins to inform. Please feel free to ask any questions, anytime.

  3. Communication
Please respect each others time and reply to PMs in a timely manner.

  4. BB20 Rule Amendments
We will endeavour to maintain our rules as close as possible to those of BB20 in regards to FAQ and Errata changes, taking into account the nature of our league.

Welcome all the new and returning coaches, good luck for the season!

Player's pay packets misplaced, team registrations lost, broadcasting fees gone missing. Who exactly was this cleric? Rumours are pointing toward the new hire but I would like to refute these claims, it was definitely not my fault and even if it did happen to be my fault I blame the lackluster employee training.
