German BB fans cant buy Cyanides game?
Does this mean what i think it will mean? Have they gone totally bonkers in Germany?

hmmm, is the rating for the blog or German goverment? :)

You can buy it from a neighbor country.

You can feel happy that your money isn't being wasted on a third of a product?

i wonder who is further away from reality. gamers or politicians - gamers do something besides gaming (spree killing e.g. HAHAHA), while politicians do nothing but politics.

The only thing we germans could do against this is to place the right vote in the september elections: http://www.piratenpartei.de/

Goverments do things like this and they they wonder why theres so much internet piracy...

The game doesnt actually involve alot of killing and none of it is terribly realistic (players sink though the floor with a skull over their heads). While such a law is daft and must be extremely irritating for germans it is unlikely to affect BB. I imagine that first person perspective games are more likely to be affected than third person.

Well we just have to wait and see what they mean with violent and what games "qualify" to that list.

And Zhluhur, they are trying to get it through before september :(

Yep, I guess when the ban goes through, German players should stop playing JavaBowl as well (lots of blood splatters, serious injuries and deaths!), to comply with their countries new laws...

Did you know?
Right after "Doom" became restricted for the same reason it became one of the most popular games in germany.

If a game is to be "banned" there'll be a "german version" without blood or with zombies replacing men.
Germans will download the "blood crack" and that's it.
Will the game industry ban german online players for using this "crack" I wonder?
Illegal game versions will be precious to schoolboys once more.
This is so pointless.

amazing how much crime is blamed on violent video games yet more wars and deaths can be attributed to religous beliefs dating back to crusades right up to our more recent troubles.
football violence in this country and (probably others) cost the government millions of pound to police.
yet we try to attribute social problems to computer games all the negative is brought to public attention but unlike other social problems the positive is not.

Is this before or after they ban paintball?

Are they also going to ban karate and judo classes? Boxing? I suppose that was the first and last UFC at the weekend.

Maybe they should just lobotomise all kids before their fifth birthdays. That is the only way to a smiling, happy society.

and i hope no more violent films either (and no more cobra 11)

Aaargh, the stupidity continues. Its was the video violence, role playing games, rock music and now video games.

They just blame something that don't affect them and that they don't understand, instead of trying to find the true reasons for violence. Most probably it is bad parents, so i think we should forbid people having children...
