To the Bitter End
The Teethkickers have had a rough go of it in the Box lately, being matched up twice consecutively against KenThis' Murderby Numbers and most recently against DukeTyrion's Slime Barons... two teams with enough ClawPOMB to make any Chaos God giggle like a tiny schoolgirl. Needless to say, the Teethkickers put up a valiant fight, but they're starting to feel the weight of their many, many, many injuries.

Murderby Numbers Match #1: Billy von Brickbat (RIP), Gutpunch Dave (Niggled)

Murderby Numbers Match #2: Brass-Knuckle Bob (-MA), All-Terrain Mongo (-ST), Frank the Wall (-AG), Little Stevie Headlock II (RIP)

Slime Barons: Otto Spleenpuncture II (-MA), Joey the Crowbar (-ST)

They're going to fight on. "Retirement" is for elves.

On, Teethkickers. To the bitter end.

Sigh, this is a pretty rough situation. Here is where you stand.

Right now you have a record of

Total Record 18/17/134
Win Percentage 16%

This isn't good. I can only hope you are still enjoying yourself.

In ranked, the people you consider your friends, probably aren't your friends. They're using you as a vampire would a thrall. Any ranked buddy, you've never got a result against, delete and never play again.

In box, I'm like you. I like to build teams, unfortunately, box is all about TV management. This is the worst possible environment for you and your philosophy on team building.

Looking at your teams, I think you'd really enjoy the Stunty division. Less uber **** kickers there (and like all competitive gaming sites, FUMBBL unfortunately has a lot of them) and promotes team building.

Also, you'd might like to give Koadah a buzz about 145 club, this would be a great step towards understanding how the current environment works.

Honestly? I'm having far more fun than my record indicates, especially since some of my main teams for a long time were an all-halfling [B] crew called "This Must Be Your Lucky Day" and a pair of all-skeleton undead teams. :)

I mainly play Box because I like the randomness of who you face off against, but once you hit a certain TV it's Chaos Dwarves as far as the eye can see. Maybe they should make a StuntyBox.

Keep on trucking. I have been building an Ogre team and it got totally ripped apart in the box by clawpomb chaos yesterday. 5 rips (3 to ogres) and a niggle. But there is still joy to be had! There is all sorts of teams to play.
That said you most likely can keep working on your game and you really have to retire -strength players, it is such a big penalty

Working as intended.

Please continue to have such little reverence for win records and continue to simply enjoy the game. It's like the good old days.

Have played 38 Blackbox-games since my return. As far as I can remember none of these games was against excessive minmaxers or bashers, on the contrary: I faced a healthy mix of a great variety of races. Admittedly, this might have to do with the fact, that none of my teams has reached higher TV-ranges yet.

some teams just survive better in the long run like CD. you'll still see intensely good proElf/woodie/darkie teams in high tv box. around 1500TV is where clawpomb seems to thrive but you can go higher too. Still, in my last 20 odd matches I have only played CD once(in a tourney) and one chaos team. most of my teams play around mid to high tv.

but yes, for your crazy play style, stunty would be way better. and even MOAR fun!

As long as it's fun, that's all that matters

However, to help the team, I would: Retire both -str players, the -ma Blitzer (who is just an expensive blocker) and the Deathroller (as it has no place on what would then be an 11 man team). Then with your lower TV build for a bit, save up to buy back the blitzer and runner and go from there. :D

Never give up!

Never surrender!
