Silly league/tourney idea...
So I was thinking about hosting an all-Skaven Lineman (no gutters, throwers, stormvermin or rogres) tournament... 16 teams, four games a week for eight weeks so as to get lots of opportunities for SPP (choose your own opponents), with the top four heading to the finals. The winner would receive 150K in gold, +1 MVP and have the option of placing their best-skilled linerat (upgraded to a Stormvermin, so Pro if they already have Block) in one of their other teams as an extra player if it fit on the team roster.
Is this a thing that can be done, or would I have to just stick with a gold/+MVP prize?

No, you can't do that. You can't award mvps or gold either without admin intervention.
Also, I don't think you'll have much uptake for a 4 games a week league. It's hard enough getting people to play once a week leagues.

I say go for it, but you might be better off shooting for 8 instead of 16 at the start.
Some of us like the idea of multiple games per week, but it's clearly not how most FUMBBL leagues and coaches operate.
However currently league admins (unless they are also site admins) do not have the powers to hand out rewards the way you propose. Not that I think most coaches would care about those rewards, just winning is reward enough for most of us :)

Personally, I think you need to get a lot more site experience before attempting a league. But the more new ideas and energy the better!

Make sure you really want to run a league first as it's a thankless task and requires more work than you think :)

Not new. Dropped former nick and registered under a toss-away gmail account (because I wanted to start fresh with no history of retired teams along with other reasons). I figure I could -get- the admin intervention if I asked nicely, though.
