Law of Averages...
Hmmm thought l hadn't written a blog yet so heres the first one :) A bit of a read l warn you.
Law of Averages = Myth.
Yep l consider the LoA (l'm too lazy to keep typing it) a complete myth. Some of you might be saying "Whiner Noob", "Learn the game" etc.. While alot of these points could be true, but life is all about learning yourself, and unless you express yourself then your stunting your personal growth as a human being. So best to vent constructively or with humour, whatever works best for you.
l came up with this while round my friends house with another friend, both fellow coaches in this wacky world of Fumbbl.
Well the thought came into my mind, do you remember when you were are school and we did a "averages" maths test, be it flipping a coin and recording how may times it came down etc.. l remember doing this and about 70-80 flips landed on tails and 30-20 landed on heads, this confused the teacher some what. l believe that planted the seeds of how l consider LoA to be a myth.
Right well Fumbbl isn't the only game l play, l'm a quite an active real life table top player to boot! l am regarded by my gaming club Big UN's (Orc themed) to be an unlucky git, this is an endearing term and not said in malice, but you have to be something special to earn this title, l'm famous for the amount of 1's 2's and generally any number that l don't need when rolling. This is not a new thing l've been doing various die required games since l was 12-13 ish and l'm 28 now, so l think it's been long enough to come to my conclusion of LoA is a myth.
There is however a positive spin on this!
If you can handle bad luck and grin and bear it, it makes you a stronger person on a whole, l feel bad for the people who are extermely lucky and once hit with some cronic bad luck they don't know how to handle it and they can fall hard. However if your unlucky and gain some good luck you relish it and enjoy, and it's more worth while.
So there you enjoy enjoy the game for what it is, a game. Hope you meet good people and enjoy the companionship, and at best share laughs.
