Fumbbl Cup XIII - Round 2 prematch
A tense calm reigned in Showtime’s conference room.

The franchise had only been running for a few months and the focus had slowly shifted.

Founded in an effort to show that elfballing goes beyond lightning moves and quicksilver tactics, the management wanted to bring back the original spirit in which game day was about spending family time witnessing jaw dropping athletic exhibitions.

Breath taking dodges between lumbering rivals.

Death-dating leaps over confused opponents.

Spirit testing ball recoveries and neck breaking passes.

However a simple letter had changed all of that.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Coach,
Once again, in our efforts to provide Blood Bowl with the best show we’re able to, we proudly inform you that the Fumbbl Cup reaches its 13th edition.

Furthermore, and in attention to the information our scouts have attained, your team has been selected to participate in the biggest Blood Bowl Event in the whole world.

Finally, we would like to inform you that your designated rival is Punish the Monkey, coached by Kryten

This game is to be played next Saturday November 8th at 20pm.

With the best of wishes and reminding you of our Fair Play and Turn 16 Foul regulation,
Fummbl Management

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The letter has been in T3mpano’s hands for quite some time now and excited as he was, the information he was gathering was unsettling...hopefully the players would be untouched by what seemed bad odds.

Now the team sat around the conference table, intently looking at the CableVision replays.

T3mpano – “This subject here” [stops the image to show a wiry ork]” might not seem much. However, he is singlehandedly responsible for over 90% of the teams Completions and Touch Downs”.

Silence.

Burst of laughter from the crowd.

T- “Ok ok, let’s keep it civil…let’s remember that some of the so called blood bowl players do their best and maybe 31 TD is a good number for an Ork!”

The replay resumes

T- “This is a prime example of what we will be facing: a brute that lives for the Blood.

Again, its numbers are not specially impressive *shuffles papers* 10 TD, 4 cas…but it seems he’s a young one that has lots of potential”

The coach looks around for anyone having a question and realizes a relaxed audience that would rather be in the field

T- “One last warning: do not grow confident. They have superior TV and its coach has a reputation for having deep ties with the Fumbbl Management…expect no mercy and give none.

As long as we have the ball, they don’t.

As long as we over score them, they lose.

As long as we are 1 square away, they can’t retaliate.

Do you know what time it is?”
