After a first half that could only be described as hilariously bad, the Terrible Terrapins staged a second half for the record books coming back to pull off the draw against the well coached and impressive BGSU Falcons. While the draw is not a win (or so the Slann priests often tell us on the sacred day of the week), given how last season started the Terrapins can only be relieved by this outcome.
The half started with Harmony One-Love
(major - underwater biodegradable container construction) again forgetting she was in the middle of a blood bowl game. Off season rumors are swirling that Harmony has developed a friendship with a wood elf wardancer, both of whom are deeply connected with nature. Harmony must have been still thinking of those times in the Lustrian forest as throughout the first half she often stopped moving to stare out at the flowers growing at the side of the field. Harmony's struggles however, were matched by the rest of her team as Darren Damascus
(major - Lustrian History) failed to pick up the opening kick off. BGSU quickly took advantage, sending their hired star Varag Ghoul-Chewer up the center to make a hole for P.J. Pope to come up and mark the ball. The rookie Saurus John Stevensville
(major - statistics) went to try and push P.J. off the ball only to have himself knocked off the field. It was short work for P.J. to pick up the ball and run it in for the first score.
Harmony One-Love enjoying some flowers and losing track of the game before being pummeled by angry chaos dwarves
Second drive started much as the first as the drive moved forward deep down the field. Unfortunately, Jaxson Airy
(major - economics) miss set his blocks and was knocked out as a result. Vanessa Gaithers-burg
(major -economics) was able to pick up the ball and run it down to the end zone. Unfortunately, P.J. again was able to track her down and arrest the ball from her. Despite some bad luck by BGSU, Alessandra Alleygainy
(major - Physics) ended up forgetting how to block and P.J. was able to run for a second score.
Coach Lancelott yelling at his team in the first half, and questioning his life choices
Rumors swirled that coach Lancelott was threatening player's scholarships at halftime and many of the players were seen bolting from the dugout halftime with a new fire in their eyes. At the start of the second half Mary's Land got off to a blazing start with a blitz on the ball. Jaxson Airy was able to run dep into the backfield of BGSU, only to trip after trying to go to far. This didn't end up coming back to bite the Terrapins as Phil Villapiano ended up fumbling the pick up. Jaxson took this opportunity to jump through the arms of both centaurs to encredibly pick up the ball and run in for the score. With this shot of confidence the Terrapins again kicked the ball and played with a renewed fire. This change obviously took BGSU by surprise as the team ended up getting stymied in the center of the pitch. The Terrapins took advantage of this by surrounding the ball and after a couple of fortunate bounces and a heroic blitz by chameleon skink O. Sean City
(major - Business/Logistics), Phil Villapiano was forced to try to make a run for the end zone. This was run down by Mary Bethesda
(major - Mathematics) after which Darren Damasucs picked up the ball and made a successful pass to Vanessa Gaithers-burg who ran in the ball for the equalizing score.
Coach Lancelott, asked after the game if he was really going to cut some of the players offered only a 'no comment'. Given this initial result, there is a lot of hope for the coming season and with all to play for there is a lot of excitement at the Mary's Land campus.
