As tough as smoke

Gone.

Lived up to their name, emerged from the darkness and blew around a bit, mildly inconveniencing their opponents. I blame the coach mostly.

Highlights include:
My assassin - armed with a baguette instead of a knife. 6 games, one MVP, 5 SPP. In other words no CAS.
My runner - "why not get a runner?" my opp suggested. So I did. First game gets -str. Dumps himself off to bench mostly.
Anyone blodger - didn't seem that great a combo when I had it.

On the plus side these were all expensive, so the team was perpetually broke. No Apo, though I'm sure that would have somehow killed even more players than my opponents. I blame the coach mostly.

You may know this...

Stab does not generate spp :(

from the 61games you played here I say...

...WELCOME TO FUMBBL!

it's RANKED.
either you learn to pick, or be prepared to become FOOD for any predator out there.

join a LEAGUE! here's a good one for newcomers, the 145 Club run by the mighty Koadah: https://www.fumbbl.com/p/group?group=2922&op=view
in the [L]eague environment you will play less hot-headed, laid-back friendly fellas, other newcomers and such.
Moving on, there will be also bloody leagues like the KPL or the country leagues.
Most of those league have special house rule that add a unique flavor to each one of them.

Again, WELCOME, and join a league!

(be aware, tho, that coaches playing Flings or Goblins in leagues are REQUIRED to be evil. remember that.)

No spp for stab? Goddammit.

So far I've enjoyed 90% of the games, and most people are friendly enough. Its a tough learning curve, but its good fun. Roll on the next 61 games.

Steep learning curve is right, but keep at it - way more important to enjoy your matches even when losing. There's a couple of good posts in the forums about DE builds, check them out. I wouldn't advise runners or assassins to start, take blitzers, witches & linemen.

Yeah, runners come after all positional have blodged up (for my experience). Also get an apo on any team (more so elves, more so the super-expensive dark elves) at most by game 2/3.

Fire any -st player, unless he's amazing (like ma10, ag6.. that kind of stuff).

And yeah, about Ranked, I wouldn't say "learn to pick", but definetly "learn not to be picked". Many coaches predate on elves, so learn how to avoid that. No shame in turning down a game that's at huge disadvantage to you.

Also, when a superstar or legend (or even a star) challenges you, ponder if you really want to play that game. You may learn a lot by playing good coaches (then i'd suggest sticking to legends) but it surely makes the game harder than it really needs to be.

I used to look for people of my CR most times, and then occasionally (every 10-20 games maybe?) play a legend guy to learn some tricks and test my skills. Ask them questions and suggesstions in game!

And most of all, have fun!

Welcome to Fumbbl!
