The Pirates come into the game looking to bounce back after their shock defeat last week to the Porchfield Punishers. Coach Rosie 'No Beard' Ulrich was quick to point out that this was just a blip and that the pirates would return to winning ways in this game. "Thoz Orkz gat lucky in the last game but it wont affect uz an our preperation for da next game. We aint scared of a load of mummies. Ventnor Dumbell Club aint gonna know what hit them. In fact their name has alot to say about them. Ventnor DUMB bell club. They arr so dumb they wont even pick the ball up. This wont even be a contest. It'll be a walkover. A walkover the plank an into Davey Jones' locker for those DUMB Khemri!! HA! HA!

I expect my side to run rings around these freaks of nature! Once we have the game in the bag we will focus on cleansing the earth of these abominations. There will only be one winner in this game and that of course will be the Whirlwinds!

-->Teams applying for membership of the league must be based on one of the island's towns (see below for a list) and must be a rookie LRB4 [L]eague team with a fan factor of at least 7. ALL TEAMS TO PLAY SOLELY IN THE WIBBL. NO OUTSIDE GAMES PERMITTED.
<b>Applicants which do not meet these criteria (i.e. not LRB4, not based in an Isle of Wight town or from applicants with little or no League experience) will be automatically deleted</b>.
To ensure variety, WIBBL has no more than two teams with the same roster in the league and each of these plays in a different conference.<br><!--

-->The league is split into two conferences, each with two eight team divisions. After all league matches are completed, the top 4 teams in each division will play a seeded knockout cup to determine the champion for each conference. Once this is decided, the two conference champions meet in the Wight Bowl to determine the overall best team for that season.
The bottom two teams in each division have the dubious honour of playing for the Wooden Spoon. This is - we think - a unique competition to FUMBBL because it's a knockout competition where the <b>LOSER</b> goes through - the aim is, after all, to find the worst team in WIBBL! The eventual winner of the Wooden Spoon will be the team which LOSES the final.

--><h4>New Teams</h4><!--
-->Teams applying for membership of the league must be based on one of the island's towns (see below for a list) and must be a rookie LRB4 [L]eague team with a fan factor of at least 7. ALL TEAMS TO PLAY SOLELY IN THE WIBBL. NO OUTSIDE GAMES PERMITTED.
<b>Applicants which do not meet these criteria (i.e. not LRB4, not based in an Isle of Wight town or from applicants with little or no League experience) will be automatically deleted</b>.
To ensure variety, WIBBL has no more than two teams with the same roster in the league and each of these plays in a different conference.<br><!--

--><b>No wizards are allowed</b> in league play (the islanders are simple folk and won't have anything to do with men in dresses) but Star Players and Freebooters may be hired if they can be persuaded to head offshore.<!--

--><h4>League Structure</h4><!--
-->The league is split into two conferences, each with two eight team divisions. After all league matches are completed, the top 4 teams in each division will play a seeded knockout cup to determine the champion for each conference. Once this is decided, the two conference champions meet in the Wight Bowl to determine the overall best team for that season.
The bottom two teams in each division have the dubious honour of playing for the Wooden Spoon. This is - we think - a unique competition to FUMBBL because it's a knockout competition where the <b>LOSER</b> goes through - the aim is, after all, to find the worst team in WIBBL! The eventual winner of the Wooden Spoon will be the team which LOSES the final.

--><p>At the end of each season, teams will be shuffled within their own conference (so if you're in the Vectis conference you'll stay in that conference but will have some different opponents each season). Teams finishing in odd numbered positions in one division will be put with those finishing in even numbers in the other division so that half of each division will swap divisions but each division should stay relatively even in terms of team strengths.</p><!--
