Background
After years of exile from the kingdom, the Halfling nation has returned to the lands bringing their coveted Fighting Cockerel Classic trophy. After issuing announcements throughout the land, the Halflings have put their precious trophy up for grabs to the best in the kingdom to hoist and defend to the death.

The Fighting Cockerel Classic is one of FUMBBL's Major Tournaments and will be contested by the winners of the FCC: Qualifiers and any teams lucky enough to be hand picked in the second-chance drawing. You can apply for a spot in one of the Qualifiers here.

The qualifiers will be drawn, and the Tournament commence, at (or pretty soon after) 23:59 server time May 11, 2016.


Format
The Fighting Cockerel Classic will be preceded by 16 Qualifying Tournaments of up to 8 teams each. These Qualifying Tournaments will be a Round Robin format, with the winners of each bracket advancing to the finals.

More information on the Qualifiers can be found at the Fighting Cockerel Classic: Qualifiers group page. The winner of each of these qualifiers will gain an extra MVP and be admitted into the prestigious final tournament.

The winners of these Qualifiers will face off in the 'main draw' - a 16 team Weekly Knockout Tournament which will determine the winner of the Fighting Cockerel Classic.

Please note: Teams are not allowed to play matches between the close of the qualifiers, and the finals. Any matches played between the final match of the qualifiers, and the drawing of the finals, will result in that team being disqualified.


Prizes
All teams that make it through the qualifying rounds will partake in the prizes! Winning your Qualifier will award you an extra MVP to your team. Once in the final 16 or 'main draw', your team is also awarded a monetary sum for advancing into the next round. The 'Dynamic Gold' prize system offers a small sums for advancement, rounded off into 10,000 gold piece amounts.

The winner of the Fighting Cockerel Classic will receive the following:

The Halfling nation has provided three soups items for the participants of this year's tournament. Each soup can be fed to one player, and only one player, of the coach's choosing. Two soups will be awarded to the winner of the Fighting Cockerel Classic Final, and the third soup will be awarded to the loser.

Each soup will grant one randomly drawn General skill.

Each soup will also grant a second randomly drawn skill, one each from Strength, Agility, and Passing.

The winner will get to choose their soups first, and the loser will get the final soup.

Please note that the gold piece awards mentioned in this box is added to your roster automatically AFTER your result is uploaded, it will not appear in your match report or team history as 'winnings'. Similarly, the extra MVP for winning a qualifier or the final are applied directly to your team roster after the result is uploaded and will also not appear in the 'match card'.
