I failed one of my 3 niggle rolls (Valdrek) and my opponent failed one of his four (his DP Kick Hobbo).

My opponent started in offence and brought the ball forward. I chose to use the wizard early but it was pretty ineffective though it opened up a gap for me. the Falcons rushed through with a one dice blitz and knocked the ball over, then fouled one of the two Chaos Dwarves with Mighty Blow and badly hurt him.

I stole the ball and was then very unlucky to roll a snake eyes to hand it off to a player in my backfield. If I had made the hand-off, the ball would have been taken out of reach.

Instead, my opponent managed to get his AG5 Hobbo to it, and throw it to his Str5 AG3 Bull Centaur (I failed my intercept roll).

A long fight for the ball followed with my opponent not able to threaten a score due to the Falcons players rushing in and crowding the ball carrier and his exit routes. Eventually the Falcons stole the ball again and threw it into their backfield where it was safe.

They had a chance to take a 1-0 lead into half time but used a RR to get a player into the end zone for a pass, then failed the hand off to an AG5 player who could run 6 squares to try a 2+ pass. Unfortunately for the Chaos Dwarves, their solitary foul for the half with their AG5 Hobbo was spotted by the ref (6) and he was ejected!

Second half, the Falcons started in offence and scored relatively quickly even though they only had 10 players (3 KOd who all failed their rolls, and a player suffering Morley's).

Things got worse for the Falcons as they only had 9 players to start the defensive drive as the three KO'd players still didn't wake up and were joined in slumber by a fourth player who was KO'd in the last drive!

The CDs KO'd two more Falcons to start the drive and the Falcons found themselves struggling with only 7 on the pitch.

Despite this, they threatened the ball carrier several times and even knocked the ball free, but were unable to consolidate against superior numbers and the CDs ran in a score in the dying seconds of regular time to send the game into overtime.

In Overtime, the Falcons' KO'd players all woke up (6 of them) and the CDs could only field 9 players in offence.

The Falcons played aggressive defence and tried to steal the ball with leapers or to crowd the ball carrier. Eventually the ball came free and the Falcons ran the ball deep. The CDs at best could run a tackler next to the Falcons player with the ball if they made 3 GFI. A double skulls by their Troll ended their turn early and the Falcons were able to delay scoring another turn.

The CDs sent players back and the Falcons scored to take a 2-1 lead but the CDs had just enough time (2 turns) to score an equaliser.

The kick off was a blitz! and the Falcons blocked up the right wing where the CDs had set up both Bull Centaurs. To top things off, their kick scattered into the end zone leaving the CDs with a difficult pass to make. The CDs got one Bull Centaur within scoring range, but did not pick up the ball.

The Falcons blitzed the Bull Centaur and seriously injured him and the game was won. The ball lay on the ground in the end zone but the two Falcons players within range were too busy celebrating to dive on the ball and score a third TD (besides, they had 172 and 117 SPP already).

A very tough game. We both had some good and bad luck. I was very unlucky with the snake eyes to hand-off early, but then got pows on a two dice opponent choose block later in the first half that slowed my opponent down a little bit.

Unfortunately, this did not repeat in the second half where I had several two dice opponent choose blocks on his Bull Centaur without block and I didn't get any joy (with me having block and him not, I go down 11/36 and he goes down 9/36). I also had the horrid run of KO rolls in the second half, failing 7 out of 7 so defence was extremely difficult.

Anyways, it was a fun game in the end and to top it off, 70K and +1 FF (I love you Bad Press).
