As expected, a fairly easy win for the Heroes. Unfortunately the curse of the no 4th reroll for you struck again, with Axe ageing for a niggle just as we get the money for the 4th reroll. Another 120K down the drain.

Twahnlows:

3 points - Touchstone - was tempted to boot the annoying little bastard - probably cost us an extra TD or two.

2 points - Boru - kept being in annoying places

1 point - Ra-Hel - was an excellent distraction

#14 Shalik – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#14 Shalik – Smashed Hip (-MA)
Was always goin to be a tough game.. and so it proved. With only 9 Players for this encounter with my pick to take out the Channel BB conference, Horrors Heroes to say I was feeling on the other side of overconfident would be a tad of an understatement. When my wish came true and a virus swept through the opposition affecting no one.. I knew that Nuffle was about to play a cruel trick on me. The devilish sod even gave me a blitz to throw me off course and put more of my players in hitting range.. as the ball could never be reached. When our star Karesh Var was badly hurt by the wolf #14 Zargithis with the first block of the game I knew this was going to be a long match for the "Echoes". Bekar followed 2 blocks later, squashed by the seemingly inspired Felsh Golem #2 Ssilh. After 1 turn we were but 7 players. Amidst all this #5 Richie III was casually carting the ball up amongst the chaos, the "Echoes" feeble blitzing attempts being thwarted again and again. Ra-Hel showing his usual form and failing a 3 dice block. Shalik's hip was smashed by that damn "Ssilh" in turn 3, while Richie Touched Down in turn 4. Now what were the elves going to muster with 6 players left. The answer to that question was sadly not much. Failing some backfield passing the only other "Echoes" player of note.. our wardancer Talaban, was sat down on the coach by the Horrors resident shrink #13 Sigmund Freud... and then there were 5. Touchstone thwarted them for a while, twice found in some space with the ball (once after an excellent play by Suryet) but his pitiful 2 Strength made him an easy target. 1-0 Horrors at Half time.

The Chunkomancer's defensive setups were too strong for our understrength team and little headway was made during our first drive in the second half. Another great start from the Horrors saw Judon Badly Hurt.. and the ball dropping into the arms of #3 Edward Birk as he blitzed Touchstone. The "Echoes" Catcher then bravely pulled of a stunning solo block on Birk.. dislodging the ball only to see it caught by the lumbering Flesh Golem #1 Axe. Alas Nuffle had struck again. What of course followed was a slow drive up the field.. with nothing the "Echoes" players could do but submit themselves to the honourable roll of speed humps. We hear later that this immense run was too much for the big Golem... pulling a heart muscle and being retired soon after this game. A bit off luck saw the "Horrors" kicker in the KO box and a miscalculation from the Chunkomancer saw a touchback and a daring solo raid into the Necromantic half of the field by the ever brave Touchstone. I might point out this was done with but 3 players on the field. Ra-Hel, Suryet and the afore mentioned catcher. Richie III was unable to bring him down, and in the subsequent turn Touchstone calmly dodged away for the Echoes one and only (and highly unexpected) TD of the game. #4 JealousGuy appeared for the first time in the match, and this agility 4 wolf set up the TD for his wolf brother Zargithis with effortless ease. 3-1 Horrors at fulltime.

Perfect Game from Chunky. Made me ineffectual early, allowing him to almost pick and choose who got spps, without damaging my team much for next game. It is with some pleasure that we field 12 players next game for the first time in the history of the team. Crap Winnings and a loss of Fans leaves a sour taste in our mouth, yet another lineman will be bought... will we ever get a second wardancer :( while in all likelihood Shalik will join Methras in the coaching ranks.

Twahnlows:
3 Votes to #14 Zargithis: This Wolf started the Horror for the "Echoes" removing our best player with the first block of the game. Blitzed well throughout the game, and finished the game as well with the teams third TD.

2 Votes to #2 Ssilh: Damn Fleshy was a pillar of strength early on while there were enough elves of the pitch to make a difference, his Casualties ensured that there was to be no luck of the elves this game.

1 Vote to # Axe: Seems appropriate to give the big fella a Twahnlow vote for his excellent catch and long drive for a TD( Shame about the Aging), Richie III was handy, while Sigmund Freud removed a key player.
