#14 Hawthorne – Smashed Knee (NI)
I have updated my match reports second, and I don't think there is any more than I can say! A very well written match report! Hint to other coaches - don't look too closely at his character images, some of them have a way of making you shiver with revulsion!

Bone Krasha - 3points,
Looney Tossa - 2 points,
Head Stompa - 1 point.

SWL Season XIII - Channel BB Conference League - Round 4

A very interesting game this one.
On the first drive, there wasn't much chance for me to stop him from scoring. I managed to get a blitz on the ball carrier, but couldn't get enough players in position to really take advantage of it. And I did over commit to the ball carrier, leaving an easy TD for Normanpark.

The return drive was a tough one - seeing an opportunity for a crowd push right off the mark (on a block/tackle/break tackle saurus no less), I wasn't about to let it pass. So, I basically committed to a drive up along the side of the field, and tried to surf anything that got in the way ;-) It worked reasonably well, though I still ended up in a pretty tight position a couple of times, and was forced to dodge with the ball carrier. Fortunately, Bone Krasha was in prime form, and pulled in for a TD in turn 7 (allowing Elbow Kikka to pop the boot in before half time).

There was something odd going on in the restrooms at half time, and not a single one of the KOed players came back (good for me - 'cause there were 3 lizards in there at this point). Truth is, that they weren't there at all, really, they'd gone to "get the ref" ... which would have proved very painful if they'd had a dirty player. The weather came in bad in the second half too, with a blizzard that sprang out of nowhere.

Elbow Kikka got a bit eager, making a quick foul, and finding that not only had the Vegans gotten the ref, they'd told him exactly which of my orks to watch out for, and poor Elbow Kikka got sent off immediately. This left me in a poor position, as I failed to collect the ball before fouling, and it was a deep kick. The lizards took advantage of the situation, and had only a little trouble taking the ball, and bringing the score to 2-1.

Some poor ball handling on the final drive left me with a real tough job in turn 16 (it should have been an easy touchdown if I'd done things right, but these things have a habit of going wrong when you use the wrong players to handlt the ball). Luckily for me, Nuffle saw things my way, allowing Big Chukka to pick up the ball right from in front of a saurus, dodge out, and pass the ball to Loony Tossa, who somehow managed to catch it, and strolled in calmly for a touchdown.

------------------- Twahnlow Votes -------------------

3 pts - #11 Morningside
What a beautiful Foul - no need for DP, or teammates to assist him, just straight in with the boot!
Oh ... and he also pestered the ball carrier on the previous drive, picked up the ball, and took it through for the BrisVegans all important second touchdown.
. Select an action for Morningside
. Foul selected.
. Morningside fouls Back Breaka. (5, 3) +0
. (6, 4) + 0, 1: Back Breaka has been badly hurt!
. The ref looks the other way!
. Move ended for Morningside

2 pts - #1 Annerly
One of several +ST skinks on the BrisVegans side, Annerly was the one that stood out. Taking charge of the ball right from the first turn, he put in a great effort for his team (probably actually deserving the MVP, even if he didn't want it :-P). Eventually he was sent to the KO box by Bone Krasha, but it was far too late in the game for that to matter.

1 pt - #2 Caboolture
This up and coming saurus is one to watch out for. He may still be a rookie, but he knows how to play his role on the team. 10 blocks, including 3 stuns, and one KO. Fine effort I must say.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Wrap up: I was expecting to be sending all my votes in the direction of those Block/Tackle/Break Tackle saurus, and they certainly were a threat on the field. Somehow, the orks managed to either avoid them, or make sure that there were more orks than saurus when they did take the buggers on. Feels a bit odd giving all the twahnlow votes to the other members of the team!
