Sigh,

what to say... bad luck I guess. To be honest I must admit that I had the weaker team by miles. I didn't think for one second that I would walk away grinning with an easy success.

But from the start:
Getting three handicaps: Morleys with a 2, extra training, palmed coin. Morleys worked about 3 times the whole game (it was a rookie Bob and one of the clone throwers), extra training giving me 6 instead of 5 rerolls... and of course palmed coin: The best handicap ever!!!

No really, I had hoped for some fancy kick butt handicap and I was mightily disappointed.

The game is summed up pretty fast. I failed Madthias didn't :D. I don't think I played poorly, but I just missed the last bit of luck to make a difference.

Good luck to win the final and be careful with those elves: To offer a gobbo as bait and then lose the ball agaist a 3+, 2+ dodge.. o_O

Take care

Warpstone Open Qualifier.

Da Gitz faced the already beaten up but legendary Darkie's Dreams in the semi-final of group XVI. Nuffle has taken a liking to da Gitz recently, and the orcs were clearly in his favour today as well.

The Dreams received first, but da Gitz blitzed immediately on the kickoff, winning the ball. After a brief scuffle, star Blitzer Nazdrag ran it in for a quick 1-0 lead. The Dreams were clearly very disappointed, as they had a good chance to recover possession but failed. The Dreams tried again but could not reach the end zone before the whistle blew for half time. All in all, the elves had an unlucky first half and would have scored if Nuffle had been fair. That is however not one of his best qualities.

Da Gitz started 2nd half with fumbling the ball a bit, and a Dreams player dodged through TZ after TZ to pop the ball while another picked it up. Luckily, da Gitz had once again enlisted the services of (dragged him kicking and screaming from the madhouse) an orc weirdboy. He let out a mighty lightning bolt of magical energy, knocking the ball-carrying elf prone. This particular weirdboy had also prepared a time distortion spell, that let him redo the lightning bolt until the elf became stunned. ;-)

Da Gitz recovered the ball, formed a cage, fouled a Dreams blitzer out and that was pretty much game. The few remaining elves tried heroically to dodge into the cage to pop the ball, but to no avail. Thrower Throka walked in the winning TD in the last turn. After that, da Gitz' fans stormed the field, furious that not a single elf had been permanently injured, and stunned four orc players.

Well played Sinner, had Nuffle been fair it would have been a tougher game. Very good sportsmanship on your part throughout the game. See you around, I'm relieved I didn't hurt the Dreams more.
