“Warpstone Open first round.

Da Glitz Gitz pull off a very surprising victory! Facing a stronger Chaos team, the odds were against da Gitz in this one. But Nuffle came to the rescue...

The Biester received first, and started the game with failing to pick up the ball for a few turns. Da Gitz put some pressure on the ball and could dodge it out after a few maneuvers. Blitzer Nozdreg moved back with the ball to get out of blitz range of most Biester players. One Chaos Warrior was still in range, and dodged free to blitz, but failed to bring Nozdreg down! Da Gitz could then pull off a hand-off-pass play to get the ball deep into the Biester's backfield. The Biester brought the ball-carrier down but could not recover the ball, allowing da Gitz to secure the situation and score! Da Gitz admit that there was a some luck in that TD, as the Chaos players seemed to be tripping on their own hooves quite a lot. 1-0 halftime.

2nd half Da Gitz coaching clearly became much worse. There are rumours that Da Gitz' coach was cursed by a Chaos Sorcerer, but more astute witnesses claim to have seen the coach "preparing" for the game by consuming an entire barrel of Bugman's XXX. Anyhow, Da Gitz made some weird plays 2nd half, like miscalculating block dice and such. Nuffle was always there to protect da Gitz though.

The Orcs caged the ball on the LOS for a few turns, and the Biester put pressure on the cage. Da Gitz screwed up the cage after a while, and tried to get out of the mess by letting the Goblin Minsy dodge throught he legs of an opposing Chaos Warrior with the ball. This failed miserably, as Minsy was clobbered by some large object hanging there. The Biester stole the ball and scored easily, as da Gitz were all out of position. 1-1.

But there was still time. 3 turns left, and da Gitz had 11 players to the Biester's 9. Goblin Minsy sprinted for the end zone, when POW! Chaos Warrior "Macho Man" brought him down and picked up the ball. Da Gitz still looked certain to score though, as the Orc Weirdboy only had to lightning bolt the Chaos Warrior to let one of the Throwers pick up the ball and walk it in. But... The Weirdboy was nowhere to be found! He had wandered off! The coach, in his druken stupor, had forgotten to restrain him! Da Gitz players saved the day though, and blitzed the ball free for Goblin Minsy to score. 2-1. Nuffle was very kind to da Gitz here.

EDIT: Day after... Man, I played that 2nd half badly! I must have been still drunk from the day before, with all the silly moves I made. Forgetting to use the wizard on the last turn was just the icing on the cake... I feel bad for making such a fool of myself in front of all the specs! It's a miracle I'm still in this thing, thank you Nuffle for protecting the morons! :)”
