“The kickoff placed the ball on the line of scrimmage next to 3 of his guys and none of mine. The half then turned into a big slugfest with Enorme slowly moving the ball down field. He wasn't quite able to score before halftime.

I kicked to him the second half. It was another slugfest but he was able to break out a runner and made some good passes to score.

I had plenty of time to score and I had more players on the field (although I was forced to play all of my sad little hobgoblins). I took a risk that he wouldn't send his runner after my ballcarrier in the backfield because it would take 2 GFIs in the blizard (fail on 1-2) and a 1-die blitz. I was wrong and he was successful. We then had a little melee around the ball. I finally got control but he had more players in the area. He put dwarves on all of my receivers and intermediaries with two turns left so my only real hope was a handoff to a centaur to make 6 GFIs in the blizard over two turns (with sprint and sure feet). Well, he failed the handoff and the reroll and that was it.

The game was lots of fun. Both of our big guys were completely useless in the first half and mostly useless in the second. They failed over half of their bonehead rolls. The ref was quite the eagle-eye as well. He threw 3 players out of the game for fouling (out of 4 attempts) and wouldn't listen to the coaches.

The final luck score were pretty close. I felt that I was unlucky in a whole lot of places that were important but not critical while my opponent was unlucky in fewer but more critical places.

I see a rematch in the future.
