“It was fine weather for the match, and both teams were eager to impress in their first game. The Lowly Spawn took the kick first, and managed to find a way through the dwarves sturdy defence. However, the dwarves hit back, sacking the ball carrier. Luckily for the Spawn, the ball bounced kindly, and next turn was retrieved and carried, eventually, to the touch line.
Some hard blocking followed as Nafls Paladine took to the offence. Thanks to some carefull positioning, the dwarves ensured that no beast could blitz, and one die blocks were all the Spawn could manage. However, fate was not with the dwarves, as the beasts managed to knock down some key players, and maintain some sort of a defensive set up.
The Spawn managed to keep the dwarves at bay, thanks to some blitzing and lucky die rolls. 1-0 at half time.
The 2nd half saw more of the same, although the dwarves were beginning to have trouble picking up the ball. This allowed the beasts to capitalise and grab the ball early on. Again the ball carrier was sacked, but the chaos gods granted a boon to their lowly children, and helped an adjacent beast to snatch the ball out of the air. Blitzing through, Baa Ram U managed to get behind the defenders, and despite some serious chasing (2 rerolls used for dodges!), crossed for a touch down.
There were no casualties, and as such the fans were apathetic to the final result. A hard fought game, and lot's of fun.
