My oh my, what a game! A real nail-biter, close to the very end. Also my first match ever to be decided by a coin-toss.

Da Rippas really underperformed in this match, but pulled through with a win in spite of this. The dwarves stubbornly refused to fall over when blocked, making it very hard for Da Rippas to go anywhere.

The Followers received first half, and made it 1-0 in the last turn after a very daring handoff-dodge-double gfi by agile Longbeard Torvak. Da Rippas played good defense even though the dwarves refused to fall down, but the Dwarves played their very best and got that TD.

2nd half was the same for Da Rippas, and we could not break through the dwarf line. After a few turns of useless blocking, Thrower Rasch decided on plan B, and ran full speed back towards our own end zone, while the team tried to reposition itself. The Followers got spread out as a result of this, and could not move enough players to defend the crucial area. Rasch threw the ball to Blitzer Gulak for a TD in turn 6. The dwarves then predictably failed to score in 2 turns, but burned all their remaining RR in the attempt. 1-1 at full time.

Da Rippas were lucky to receive in OT, and things looked good, as the Followers had no RR. But it was not to be. Orc blocking continued to suck, and Thrower Rasch made a run for it too soon. With inadequate protection on the ball, the dwarves could pop it and were able to hold us off for the entire OT period. At no time was there any danger of the dwarves scoring, but they made a good job of being in the way. So 1-1 after OT and a coin-toss... that came out favourably, thank Nuffle!
