The team was a little uneasy after hearing that the orcs had hired Morg n Thorg to help them out, but Havan Yelithe cared little about his reputation, and within the opening minute he very nearly ripped the super star in half, though unfortunately the orcs apothecary was able to heal his injuries.
The first quarter belonged firmly to the elves, with two quick touchdowns being scored by Vicki and Joseph. Then the pain began. The orcs bashed their way downfield and got one back just minutes before halftime.
Halftime Score: Elves 2-1 Crash
The second half started as the first finished, with the orcs bashing their way forward while the elves try to hold them off. Morg n Thorg carried the ball downfield and was within reach of the endzone when Havan struck again, dodging his way through a maze of orcs and again flooring the ogre. he then retreived the ball and offloaded it to Joseph Collymore who ran it in to put the game beyond doubt.
Final Score: Elves 3-2 Crash
Twahnlows:
3 Points for Steem Trane, who was tireless in his efforts to stop the elves offense from gaining momentum.
2 Points for Oncomin Truk, who kept the orcs in the hunt with his touchdown late in the first half.
1 Point for Maori Sidestep-Fun, another orc blitzer who tried his best to stop an elf attack that was on fire for much of the game.
Aah well Coach Smegish has never paid much attention to the fortunes of the Crash (we just promoted indeed !) and the way his elves played out there today fully vindicated this. The Crash were no threat to these talented elves.
The Crash feel this game turned bad on three seperate occasions.
Firstly Collymore's opening run was not suddenly and violently interrupted by Steem Trane despite having not one but 9 different occasions (5 unlikely tackle dice and 4 more likely block dice). This gifted an easy score to the REALLY High, though to be fair that was a highly expected opening to the match.
Secondly, in their response the Crash's star ball player Oncomin Truk put down the simplest of catches (double 1). Havan was easily elf enough to pounce on the loose ball and soon after Vicki Deloris made it 2-0.
The Crash were still hoping to at least level the match, and in scoring back to go to the break at 2-1 they launched their Morg-play in the second half. The buildup here was the Crash's best period of the game, and elves were being dispatched to the medics all over the field.
And so with Morg mere yards from from the line, in possession and well screened by a thin but double-line of Orcs from the few remaining Elves on the pitch Crash fans were rightly excited at as solid a chance as you get to level the match. But Havan wasn't done showponying yet as the game's 3rd decisive moment arrived. Yelithe danced through the lines of Orcish tackle blitzers with ease and again dropped the huge ogre as a school-yard bully might a small child. Once again Collymore was upfield and 3-1 from there was waybread and butter for the elves.
Pyle Dryvah picked up a late consolation point as the very few elves left to stop the Orcs largely tried to stay out of the way.

3 Votes - Havan Yelithe
Having started the game by casually killing Morg'N'Thorg, Havan went on to BH a Bob, and later dodge through a double line of tackle blitzers to again flatten Morg'N'Thorg with the ball. When Oncomin Truk put the simples of catches down, it was that elf Havan who swooped on it and handled cleanly to set Collymore up for his second. This was an elf in an irrepressible mood and no amount of violence to his team-elves was going to stop him winning this match for the REALLY High.
2 Votes - Joe Collymore
Joe's first TD was a fine example of his capability out there today. He danced easily up the line past a tackle blitzer. He shrugged off four dice of MB and blockle. He took the ball easily. He danced again past the tackle blitzer to score. The Crash have no answer for this kind of talent, and tried to silence this elf permanently at every opportunity. Most elves would have nightmares about being in such a position, where Collymore seemed to enjoy it. Whatever he is high on, the Crash want some.
1 Vote - Melindi Gracias
Not only had a perfect leaping record all day, but Gracias' wonderful handling, side step and offload (when Truk tried to recover for the Orcs after Morg was dropped) kept the ball safe for the elves at 2-1 when the Crash threatened to tie it, allowing them to go 3-1 up and take the game. Fine play Gracias. Your number is in our black book..”
