This match was Blood Bowl as it should be. This game featured exciting plays, dazzling superstars and a dramatic finish. A new rivalry was certainly built this day.

The game pitted two stars against each other. On the norse side was legend Karl Kross, an experienced catcher as strong as a Black Orc, as agile as an elf and as fast as a skaven. The vampires were captained by Lord Zambar, young maybe, but skilled. Both stars are central pillars to their respective teams (to the great detriment to their Team Ratings).

Both stars suffer niggling injuries, but upon seeing the other they both played through the pain and took the pitch. Neither disappointed. Karl Kross was a terror on offense, virtually unstoppable to the vampires. He scored both norse TDs and rightly claimed their MVP. Lord Zambar was equally dominating for his team, scoring all 3 vampire TDs.

This game came down to an exciting finish. Late in the 2nd half with the score tied at 2 the vampires receieved the ball. Baron Jade picked up the ball and got behind a screen of thralls. Lord Zambar ran upfield towards the norse endzone with a couple thralls for support. In response Karl Kross took matters into his own hand and dodged through the screen and knocked Baron Jade over. Fortunately for the vampires the ball fell towards the thralls and away from the dangerous catcher. The vampires were able to push away the norse players near the ball and Duke Thorn scooped up the ball. Some nice blocking left Lord Zamber with only one norse player near him, Nelson Samuels. 'The Duke' threw the ball towards Lord Zambar expecting an easy catch and TD. Somehow Nelson Samuels intercepted the ball, despite being surrounded by 4 vampire players (certainly the play of the game).

The game came down to a final play. If Nelson could dodge through 2 TZs he'd have an easy hand-ff to Karl Kross deep behind Thrall lines for the game winning touchdown. Luckily for the vampires Nelson fell over and the ball scattered out of harms way. A couple blocks and a hand-off later and Lord Zambar crossed the endzone line to secure a 3-2 win for the evil vampires.

This was by far the most exciting game I've played for a while. Kudos to Monkey and his norse team, we look forward to a rematch.
