As pre-season friendlies go, it was a scrappy affair.

Ratamahata went into the match with a score to settle, coming off a punishing 0-2 reverse in their last game, but showed no sign of having put their lapses of concentration behind them, as the Supermeisters easily sacked the Rata press and Smack Hanson's unmarked run into the backfield saw him fly through into the endzone for an easy score.

The orcs were in tatters, and with Bridge Court moving the ball easily, it was looking bleak.

But if the elves thought they were in for a clean ride, they had reckoned without the mighty Booboo. Still furious with himself for a string of missed tackles in his last game, the enormous blocker was a torrent of muscle at the restart.

With the peerless Ronnie kicking perfectly into the corner, Booboo launched himself into Cersei Lannister and put both fists through her. The witch was declared dead on the pitch, but regained consciousness on the sidelines and returned soon after, albeit in a daze and was nothing more than a passenger for the rest of the game.

As Goody and the HNM broke through for a late equaliser on the verge of half-time, attention in the stadium was focussed upon the rampaging Booboo. Tearing through the line of scrimmage, the Black Orc made a beeline for Darky Whiteboy, the blitzer who had taunted him throughout the half. The elf sold him a dummy and sprinted wide to make a deep run, but as he dropped his shoulder to spin past another orc, Booboo's fat fingers flew back to close around his head and feet.

The sight of their star player torn into two pieces and tossed into the stands was a blow for the Bridge Court fans, but Booboo wasn't to be sated. He had to be dragged from the pitch, frothing, as the half-time whistle went midway through his single-handed demolition of another smoothly drawn Supermeister cage.

The elves had used the ball well in the first half, but had no answer to the orcs' first-count and were looking battered.

The second half started with an enormous push by Rata down the centre of the pitch but the elven defence had stepped up its game and had an answer for everything. Stopping the drive almost on the endzone, Ego Trooper retrieved the ball and, with his receivers again unmarked, wound up another spectacular raking pass on the counter.

But just as Bridge Court had pumped their physical game in the second half - blows had been traded punch for punch, with two players from each team knocked out - so the orcs were looking to throw something flash into the mix.

Earnest C had spotted the pass and leaping backwards, he stuck up one gruppy mit to bring it out of the air, landing with a heel in Lannister's gut, the lineman span clear and dived full length to drop the ball into Goody's waiting hands.

By this point, the elves were broken. Soaked to the skin, beaten down and on a dark streak of bad luck, this was the tipping point. Despite pouring defenders back, they had no answer to Goody's run along the touchline.

Ronnie the toes could have topped another outstanding game with a touchdown in the dying seconds after his awesome kick was snatched up by Guffbum, but his overlapping run wasn't met with a return pass of the same calibre and he must wait a bit longer to score the TD that his talent deserves.

An end-to end game, but Adam's luck just dropped out in the second half as his players just fell around like drunkards. His boldness bore fruit early on and the Supermeisters showed their skills, but the game was really turned by Booboo's rampage, meaning that Ratamahata just had to keep things tight and use their numbers to push home.
