And what a game it was! This one had it all: The blocking, the dodging, the great plays and the bone-head ones, the casualties, the luck and the bad luck. Great game! Amazon Zen Master Pirrekurr knows what he is doing with his team, that's for sure, and it was a hard-fought win in OT for da Rippas. The Dollz brought Zara and da Rippas brought Nobbla and a Wizard.

The Dollz got some great handicaps: I am the greatest kept one Black Orc out for the entire game, Morley's kept alternatively another BOB and da Rippas AG4 thrower out, smelling salts let the Dollz come back again and again and iron woman kept Dollz superstar Canary Babe in the whole match.

Da Rippas started with a blitz!!! however, and converted it to a lightning fast 1-0 lead when the Dollz failed to bring down the ball carrier. The Dollz went on to fail the pick-up on their second drive, allowing da Rippas to pressure the ball again. This time the 'Zons got out of trouble however, and could pass it away to the other half of the field and a turn 5 1-1 TD. Da Rippas responded with a three-turn cage TD, making it 2-1 at half-time. Well played offense from both teams, with the lucky blitz!!! making the difference so far.

Da Rippas then managed to screw up the offense. Nobbla was fielded, and too much attention was initially given to protecting him. He was pretty effective while on the pitch though. The first major set-back was that MB-tackle Black Orc Kamog was killed on the first Dollz' turn! Da Rippas were so demoralized by this that we allowed the 'Zons to keep on outbashing us. When the Dollz got a DT player on the ball-carrier, we decided that we had enough. A mighty lightning bolt brought down the Amazon, and da Rippas stormed on upfield, throwing the ball to Goblin Kuta in scoring position. But the Dollz were not out of it yet! A rookie Linewoman chased Kuta and took him down! Another Amazon picked the ball up, but snake-eyed the gfi to get away! Da Rippas felt secure and moved the ball further upfield behind a screen of tacklers...

...which Amazon Blitzer Draconian Lady dodged through to bring the ball carrier down again! She picked the ball up, but had no protection. Still feeling secure, da Rippas started bringing players up to take the ball back, but it was now our turn to snake-eye a gfi! Draconian Lady got free, but then failed the pass to get the ball away! Da Rippas moved backwards and Goblin Kuta picked the ball up, but a DT brought him down! The Dollz tried again, and this time they made the long pass to get the ball too far away for da Rippas to get it back. 2-2 at full time. Those were some frustrating turns for both coaches, I'm sure. :-)

Da Rippas got to recieve in OT, which the Dollz started with no RR. Things were looking good for da Rippas, but turned worse when Goblin Kuta failed to catch the hand-off in the first turn, worse still when Canary Babe moved in to pick up the ball in two TZ, and even worse when da Rippas failed to get her down! Fortunately for us, she then knocked herself down on the blitz that was going to get the Dollz a leading TD. Da Rippas recovered the ball, and threw it to Blitzer Goluk, who moved into scoring position. Once more, the Dollz brought the ball-carrier down, but then tripped on another gfi (no RR). That closed the deal for da Rippas, who could get the ball back easily and score in turn 5. We would have liked to stall it out, but Zara's jump up made it too much of a risk.

The Dollz then made a good attempt at a 3-turn TD down one flank, but they were hurting for lack of RR. In the end, they needed to knock a player down at 2d and make a AG3 pick-up to score, which they failed. Phew. So. Much. Tension.

Great game Pirrekurr, you really played well and would have been a worthy winner. This was one of the closest games i have ever played. GL getting a 3rd chance at qualifying. :-)”
