“This was the most painful game I've played in a while. By turn 5 there had been about 3 NI's, 2 BH's and a RIP. All the SI's in this game were niggles and apoth was used sucessfully by both coaches early on.
Not only was it painful with the injuries, but also with my luck. My 1st 3 turns ended on double skulls, double 1's (on a 2+ attempt) and failing a pick up and the RR's got used very quickly. This wasn't help when my opponent intercepted my desperate attempt to get the ball clear from my own endzone and he soon scored. This, along with blitz and perfect defence lead to my opponent taking the ball from me and scoring a total of twice in 4 turns to make me 2-0 and minus a few players. At this point I put serious consideration into conceeding.
In an act of frustration and to help even out the numbers, I had to start fouling. This worked well and I managed to pull back a TD at the end of the 1st half to make it 2-1 at half time.
I started the 2nd half with the luck slowly starting to even out and with a couple more fouls I was starting to get back into the game. This was helped by the fact that my opponent lost his best player when the ref spotted him make his only foul of the game. The inexperience of my opposiing coach was my only saving grace in this match and I managed to steal the ball from him 3 times in the 2nd half and score giving me the 3-2 win.”
