Well, 7th Street's second match against a team that badly outskills them was not as painful as the first (against Old Toadies), and much more enjoyable to watch overall.

Cave Inn had Morley's Revenge on 3 players, but it only took out 1 player on any kickoff, and none on the last, which lasted all the 2nd Half. Smelling Salts proved handy for those few Kickoffs, but didn't do a thing to prevent the knock-outs in the first place. And Gloom and Doom didn't factor in at all. 5 RR's vs 0 told the tale.

A poorly planned cage on the first play set the tone, and Cave Inn took advantage of the confusion to create a back-and-forth (but mostly "back") struggle for the ball, and Defensive score mid-half. A subsequent Blitz result and a TZ on the ballcarrier set 7th street into a panic, but a desperate scramble dodged a man free of the LOS deep, and likewise the Thrower for a heartbreaker Long Bomb that was dropped on a 3 roll, which led to an ugly little ruck and no more scoring that half.

2nd half looked like the start of a rout, but the dice bit Coach Kemimutt and a failed gfi opened the door to stop a sure score. In fact, 7th St. managed to turn it around after a few Turns, and broke free mid-half with the ball, running like a bat outa hell. Twice one (one ~more~, ahem) Dodge would have set up a screen to guarantee the tie, but dice only go so far with no RR's. CI stopped the initial breakaway, but 7th Street recovered the resulting fumble Turn 6, and successfully passed to within a move of the endzone, threatening to tie it up- but CI successfully dodged out to double team the ball and stop the effort then and there. (Somewhere in here, both coaches found out that Wizards can be a pure waste of 50k.)

A good clean game, but, man! With almost every player a Blocker and two Guards, it was just pain fest.
