#11 Joseph – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#11 Joseph – Serious Concussion (-AV)
...and lest we forget, I only started with 10 in the second half. The thing is, if block had come up I probably would have taken it on those blitzes, simply because you were out of re-rolls and AG3 had to catch up with you at some point. I think stall-ball with a skink cage is probably not the way to go with lizardmen. Sure, the sauri were beating the piss out of my zombies... but so what? They're zombies. I think a saurus cage would have served the Geckos much better. My only str counter would have been the one mummy and dodging in on a blitz would have been very dicey, ag 4 or no. No sympathy on the big guy, he was around for most of the game and when he worked he was truly annoying.

Orcland Wooden Shield 3/07 - round 2
-----------------------------------------------------
The Geckos faced the Dying to Play you undeads in the 2nd round of the Orcland Wooden Shield, and it would turn out to be a exciting and hard fought match.

The undead won the kickoff, and had insane luck in the beginning of the match. A ball scattered into the hands of the mummy Tut-an-Sockem and the Geckos managed to tie up the formidable stopping block of the Kroxigor by missing Bonehead rolls and failing GFI's.

After the TD the luck changed, and for a while most things went the Geckos way. The heavy hitting sauruses but several of the opponents in the KO box and the skinks could eventually dodge themselves to an 8th turn TD.

For the 2nd half things looked bright for the Geckos. They recieved the ball and the opponents had one of their mummies out because of a foul and several zombies in the KO box. With 3 agi 4 players on the pitch they were a fast and agile defense though. What won the day for CanvasBack and his undead were the fortune with the crucial blocks. Every time the Geckos looked to get a good chance to make a TD Canvas put all his efforts into a blitz with a ghoul and it always turned up with a clean hit. With agi 4 he always had a blitzer available, so that combination of good players and crucial luck made it very hard to get the ball carrier past him. My side stepping skinks deserved a better fate than to constantly be taken out by ghouls lacking the block ability, but Nuffle seemed to disagree.

It was one of those blocks that lead to the winning TD as well. A succesful block on the ball carrier, and then it didn't matter that I boxed the ghoul in, because with agi 4 he got through and could complete the TD in the 16th turn of the match. It didn't feel fair, but Canvas probably disagrees ;)

Congratulations to the win, Canvas. In retrospect I should have focused my fouling attempts on the ghouls instead of the mummy. Good luck in the finals!

Edit: Still, one failed hit or hit/block on those 3-4 occassions and I would have had another TD and that would have won me the match, hehe. I could have won with 4-1 instead of losing with 2-1.
