The opposing coach told me to go ahead. Make his day. To tell you the truth, I really couldn't remember how many times he'd shot at me either... Turns out with the number of players he'd clear off the pitch later, he'd brought a whole fistful of bullets.

Joking aside, this was another brutal match on the pain front. I figured it wouldn't be a cakewalk, and I was not disappointed. First two fouls resulted in serious injuries against me, including one on the minotaur that was mercifully healed.

The lone score in the game was lucky - Sheep Reaper made a couple of dodges, grabbed the ball while being covered by a tacklezone, and dodged away. The subsequent blitz from the undead line falling back was messed up when Manbush selected a blitz in error for what should have been a block, and allowed another dodge roll and a few blocks from Shub-Niggurath to spring the Sheep Reaper into the endzone.

The celebration did not last long, however, as only one of the 4 KOs came back to the pitch, forcing the Goats to field green rookie Beastmen in the backfield and come to terms with being slapped about like a red-headed stepchild on the line of scrimmage for the rest of the match.

Despite the thorough and continuous drubbing, bad luck with a few skulls by my opponent always left me with an opportunity (at the expense of dodges or abandoning chaos warriors to be manhandled) to blitz the ball carrier.

Though he was left off the scoresheet, MetalGoat was truly the hero of the day, as he wisely fell back to cover the backfield while the Eastwoodians tried to push forward for a late second-half score. Twice he blitzed Josey Wales onto his back on turns 7 and 8, the second knocking him off the pitch and removing all threat of the score.

The last action of the match, appropriately, was a gang foul. The crowd was denied their last-minute murder as the hardy Chaos Warrior absorbed the punishment, climbed to his feet and pumped his fist in victory.

Great match played in good spirits, a good challenge presented. We'll meet again, Manbush.
