2-0 up at half time and the travelling Brewer's fans went wild. Many pints of Buckland stout were consumed as the celebrations spilled off the pitch and into the dressing room. Even the head coach was spotted with a pipe and pint!

Electing to receive in the first period, Ponto Brown took the hand off and flew majestically through the air. Without any deep cover from the Runner's he ran in unapposed to score the opening TD.

The Runners blitzed deep into the Brewer's half with the ball after the score and formed a tight defensive circle around the ball. With little cover a few players huddled together to form a barrier but it looked only a matter of time before the dangerous Witch Elf Hanais would dance through.

Then disaster struck, slipping deep in Brewer territory the turnover was forced and the Halflings from Buckland played a stunning passing and running play to clear their lines. Globukh and Burzhosh provided the cover and Bon Hornblower ran the ball in late in the first period.

Second half saw a few drunken players return to the pitch from a hearty half-time talk. This accounted for their readiness to return to th bench, no doubt nursing gut rot or headaches. After the first score by the Runners the Brewer could only field 9 and this soon became 10.

An expert kick saw the ball in the Brewers TD zone and it looked an impossibility to recover. A fumbled catch saw the turnover and the Elf team skipped the ball home. 2-2 and only a two turns to play.

Ponto knew what to do and received the ball and braced himself. Luck shone on the Brewers as a PRO, RR to land, a tacklezone evasion and 2 GFI's were required to score but the brave little Hobbit was upto the task.

3-2 they led and the fans went wild. The lack of a blitz sent the fans and players into a furore as they knew victory was to be theirs for the first time in their BB careers.

The first of many???? Only time will tell.
