“An exciting game this was.
The Hoodlum fans intimidated the ref so much in the first half that Chernabog, the teams designated fouler had free reign. Which resulted in 5 stuns in the first 5 turns followed by 3 casualties in the next.
The elves scored a nicely executed chainpush touchdown in turn 2 and kicked the ball to the Hoodlums. The first 2 turns of their drive saw 2 blitzes on the ballcarrier. Hook and his men came free with a scare as the first time the blitz was failed and the second time, the one die pow resulted in a good scatter, from which the Soul Calibers couldnt take advantage. With 3 early KO's the Calibers were unable to stop the full force of the Hoodlums and they scored the equaliser in turn 8.
At that point the chances for the calibers were looking grim, however all 3 KO's came back to the pitch giving them a full squad to field again. This proved too much for the Hoodlums, who despite their larger number of blocks saw their team dwindle in numbers at the same rate as the Caliburs. Two more blitzes on the ballcarrier by the Caliburs, one one die pow and a 2die, resulted in the ball being caught by another member of the Hoodlums both times.
In the last turn the Hoodlums could still score the winner, but due to some bad positioning and some bad plays, they needed some big dice to do it, which they almost got, but not quite.

We scored after 2, leaving the Chaos the shot at the classic 2-1 result, with the ref. In the 14 turns they held the ball, we got 2 2dbs and 2 1dbs at the ball carrier at various stages (ag5 leap rocks!), but either pushes, failed pickups or the ball scattering into an on-hand Chaos player's grasp foiled every attempt.
Really fun game, Elves V Bashers normally are, and I hope for a repeat fixture next round - once I have some new players, that is! :D And a DP.... I need a Dp.... ;)”
