Ah, you can tell it's ELF season. I spotted an orc team even in stats but with no tackle... It could easily have gone very far south (as in, south of the 49th parallel), but the fans set the tone on the opening kickoff by lobbing a jagged rock into Zogg's skull. Galvanized by this display of solidarity, True North Demagogues decided to up their game. Against all the guards, finding good blocking positions was tough, and stopping the orc cage from advancing proved difficult, particularly in the first half, where some good blocking sprang Ying from a tangle of bodies and into the endzone. However, Kim Campbell circled formations and blitzed with surgical precision. Dief the Chief stuck in the thick of things all match, gutting out hammering blows from black orcs and blitzers. Robert Borden proved to be another excellent orator for the Demagogues, giving rousing speeches with Black Orcs groaning at his feet.

All in all the game was lucky on both sides - the one area where the Orcs lacked luck was the casualty rolls. Not a single injury and only a couple of KOs meant the team apothecary spent the entire match drinking with the cheerleaders. Once the orcs started to get shoved off the field in the second half, they forced their way deep on a flank with no protection. A surging rush without cover, that would have ended short of the goal-line anyways, resulted in a trip for the All Blacks, which meant the elves pounced on the loose ball and the long bomb was away. Nothing left but run down the clock and foul the green skins.

Thanks for the match Fred99, you were very sporting even with the one-sided casualties. I appreciate your good humour.

ELF scoring: +10 (match) +10 (win) +4 (2xtds for) -2 (td against) + 8 (4x casualties) = 30 pts (Category B)
